Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
On my secular job, I work as a Police Officer. I ask God daily to be with me and guide me as I am out on patrol. I ask him for discernment so that I may detect danger before it is too late to avoid or react. I also, on most days ask God to provide an opportunity to witness to someone about the plan of salvation. This morning at 0953 hours, I received a radio call for a male subject not breathing. I activated lights and siren and increased my speed. I arrived at the location in less than a minute. I was met by a young woman in the yard who told me that she just arrived and found him not to be breathing. Now in my mind, I am thinking this is another old man who had just stop breathing. I was wrong! He had stop breathing, but he was only 19 years old. This young man died of heart failure. I found out that his mother was in the hospital getting her second leg amputated. As usual when I respond to a sudden death call I usually look around the immediate area for a Bible or some type of indication that would confirm that the deceased person had a relationship with Jesus. I did not observe any evidence of Christianity in this household.
We really never know when we are going to take our last breath. It is so important to tell someone about Jesus. I have small books that I normally give out that contain the entire gospel of John. Just giving out these booklets or a tract will result in someone accepting Jesus as Lord. This is something we all can do. Most people will accept a small gospel or tract without hesitation. I met this kid before and I said nothing to him about a relationship with Jesus. TODAY IT WAS TOO LATE!
