This poem reflects my appreciation for God and the way He loves.
I am truly thanking him for not having a love like mine.
Lord I’m so glad your love is not like mine,
Which has its moments of lows and highs,
That sometimes scars and leaves behind,
Broken hearts and confused minds;
Often times I love based on situations,
Which means my love has many limitations.
For instance if I’m angry or become upset,
Instead of being supportive my love neglects,
Instead of being friendly it becomes selfish,
And holds a grudge that neither forgives or forgets.
My love at times can behave so rude,
That it provokes gentle spirits and bullies attitudes.
My love sometimes is unable to withstand,
The pressure of being kind when someone has been mean,
The commitment of being successful despite unfulfilled dreams,
The courage to overlook the un-perfect things;
Thank you Lord for having a love not like mine,
A love that seeks peace in hearts and minds,
A love that when it’s felt it leaves no pain behind,
A love that’s able to press through the good and bad times.
Thank you for having a love that cares about my every needs,
A love that’s patient enough to forgive my many sins,
A love that never takes back what it has already gave,
A love that never requires a condition to misbehave;
Thank you for having a love that’s never bitter or unpleasant,
A love eager to nurture never ready to neglect,
A love that also builds, edifies, and never breaks,
A love that’s even able to humble all hatred,
A love that never causes hearts to become separated,
A love that speaks kind melodies regardless of situations;
Lord teach me to love, through pain and despair,
Teach me to love my neighbor, as I love myself.
Teach me to love, despite opposition,
Teach me to love, without first prejudging.
Lord strengthen my love to see, through people’s faults,
To accept them for who they are and not for whom they’re not,
Help me to love through circumstances beyond my control,
Lord I thank you for loving me, unconditional.
He is coming back for His people. All people as "One Body" in Christ.
Not a people separated by differences, but a people unified in Christ. Not a people separated by prejudice, but a people unified in faith. Not a people separated by bitterness, but a people unified in Love.
The Bible tells us that the Creator God created us ALL in His image. This means we should stop living by our own emotions and start operating in the Love of God. Instead of stumbling over differences which separate us, we need to look to the One that brings inclusion which is Jesus Christ. For it is He that separates the "wheat from the weeds" at harvest. He is the only one that can bring us together where we have grown so far apart.
As a nation, we need to tear down the walls that stand between us, and replace them with the hand of fellowship. We must replace the hurt with forgiveness and mend the wounds with unity.
"Oh Great Spirit God, we ask that you give us direction on the path of life. We ask that you lead us to where YOU want us to go. We ask that you heal our hearts from ALL bitterness, from past hurts, and place in our hearts forgiveness. Great Spirit God, bring us together in the unity of your Son Jesus who is OUR healer...Amen"
Galatians 2:6 As for those who seemed to be important- whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not judge by external apperance- those men added nothing to my message.
Are you one that has experienced being set apart or set aside, one that was not included, not fitting in, not one of the popular kids on the street or in school, wrong size bank account, wrong or no name brand shoes, not welcomed in a new town or church, your outward apperances don't measure up or match...
Whisper...I went to a reunion this summer and was told by many about a certain restaurant. I went with my 18 year old niece to try it out. Needless to say after 20 minutes...it was obvious they were not going to wait on me...so we went ahead, got up quietly, and left.
The peacock is our flashy showy bird. He is worldly, full of pride, and very impressed with himself. He needs center stage or front page. Must be on that top 10 list. He loves to strut his stuff and seldom does anything for anyone else in need. He is the me, me, me bird. Peacocks have a tendency of looking down on others, judging and comparing. Very picky on who he includes into his circles. They are the religious zealots of the bird kingdom, our Sunday show birds.
So...looking into the Word...what does Christ say to us...
Isa. 61.1-3 1b..He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted...
1 Cor.1:26-31 v28. But God...chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things- and the things that are not-
Isa. 49:9 Mt. 11:28 Mt. 5 ;1-12 The Beatitudes..blessed are...1 Cor. 1:26-31 Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit.
A reminder to the peacocks: Instead of looking at ones-self we need to look at Jesus. He is our example.
Rev. 18:2b "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird."
1 Cor.12:12-27 v. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. v.22 those parts of the body that seem weaker are indespensable v.24 presentable parts need no special treatment.
Mt. 5:43-48..If you only greet your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
***James 2:1-9....favoritism forbidden...Acts 10:34
Mt.23:27 beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead mens bones and everything unclean.
Mt. 7:1,2...Ro. 14:10...Ro. 16:17...Mt. 18:10-14... Gal 6:7
Precious Lord, you tell me ... that love covers a muliple of sins (1 Peter 4:8b) You do not want anyone to perish. (2 Peter 3:9) we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Rom. 3:28) Lord I need to remember...Mt. 6:14 ...For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ...
As I am getting ready to post this...the Lord whispered... "Lost, but now found"....who would imagine this? The Lord has a purpose/reasons. WOW! I was found abandoned in Chicago at 9 months of age...and placed in Saint Vincents Orphanage there in Cook County. Lord, you have blessed me with many friends who have embraced me in friendship...and have taken me under their wings...from the same area years ago from ones who walked away. WOW! We all fit and belong somewhere. In the Body of Christ and to His Glory, Brown Eagle
