- Jesse Brandon Jr. was born November 17, 1942 in Tunica, Mississippi to the late Jessie Brandon Sr. and Alice Brandon.
Jesse accepted Christ at an early age and joined the New Zion Baptist Church in Tunica, Mississippi. He later joined Union Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. John Cole. He was educated in Tunica school system and graduated from the Rosa Fort High School. He joined the Army on September 28, 1961 and was honorably discharged. Afterwards, he moved to Detroit, MI and worked for General Motors for over 39 years where he retired as a driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Albert and Frank, an one son Tyrone.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife Mary; children: Vivian Cureton, Terry, Jesse III (Vonya), Reggie (Lynne), Jazen (Freda), Sabrina (Robert), Angela, Tiffany (Kenny), Jequita (Elvin), and Darryl; 27 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brothers: Roosevelt Johnson (Eddie Lee), Melvin (Debra); sisters: Annie Mae Hamp and Lille Mae West; in-laws; Willie Mae Ford, Alberta Brownlee (Will), Joan Weaver, and Betty Daniel (Eugene), and great neighbor Keith. He also leaves a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his Union Grove Church Family.
Our prayers are with the Brandon family.
