Elohiym (God) Repents??? part 3

This is an insert of a Bible study we're doing in Amos 7:7. In this part we're starting a greater investigation into the "plumbline of the Adonai (Lord)". Why it was created and exactly what is it. Hope you'll be blessed.

" Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Adonai (Lord) stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand." Amos 7:7

Now this is a very familiar description to us bible students, "the Plumbline of the Lord". What is this plumbline? and whats it for?
First let us not forget the situation from the first two studies. We have the Adonai Yhvh (Lord God) the merciful Judge. We have Amos the chosen Intercessor/Seer. So first lets look at the Adonai YHVH's position. He is the Almighty Righteous Judge. His judgements and oracles are'nt touch and go like the judges of our land. You know,,, that looks at your criminal history and sentences you solely on the basis of social, economic or religious background. Or even the total severity of the crime because of someone else writings or statutes. For he himself said, " I judge not by appearance but by mans heart." So where you live or what you drive or what you make financially can't help you. Its your heart! Many of us do things thats are brought on by our social, economical or religious backgrounds for various reasons. Look for instance at Abraham. He grew up in a family that worked for the King at the time to make idols. In the book of Jasher, Terah, Father of Abraham is one of the Kings couriers. Yet something must have bugged Abraham about this. And yes, the Adonai knew his heart. He knew the questions he had, the concerns, the just wanting there to be more attitude he must have had, seeking something greater than molten images that Abraham watched his own earthly father create with ordinary man hands. Lets go even simpler,,, look up in the sky! Now look at anything on this earth you wish, what could possibly have the luster of those stars??? Unlike maybe Abraham at the time we don't have to wonder who created those beautiful stars or the crisp clear sky as a background to put them in. We can relate if we remember all the idols that we leave when the Adonai Jesus said to us, "Follow me." Most of us can definately admit we left alot of things behind that we might have grew up in.
This is wonderful knowledge when we think about it! And as always to Elohiym be the glory! Have you ever done something you really did'nt want to do? Or stood up for something you really believed, when know when know one else would? Think we could ask the Apostle Paul about this??? And the whole time our Father in heaven knew the real intent and the motive of our hearts.
We heard just this week that,religion is like the Law in that it will make us look at what is really going on with us and not so much the situations we're in.
Amos must have had his heart in the right place, to be used by the Adonai for such a wonderful invention as this plumbline and all of this because with the right positioning, the right intent and motive, the right heart, he could become an instrument of the Divine! The "wall" Adonai stood on in the hebrew/aramaic is called "chowmah", its a place of joining. The fact that the Almighty stood on it, shows that only he is the sole authority over it. For instance, when the Adonai told Joshua that everywhere his feet tread would be his, or when the psalmist sung, "Heaven is my throne and the earth my footstool." The standing on shows ownership! This is mine and I have total control over it. Now quickly, a "plumbline"( anak- a narrow place) is made of lead metal. Lead symbolizes "heaviness of heart." Making more sense? Adonai Jesus said, for us to seek the narrow path for wide is the path to destruction! Another very familiar scripture reference can be added to Elohiyms attitude at that time.A matter of fact O'my goodness theres several, " I know the thoughts I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end, Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiyah 29:11-13. This is the plumbline in full effect! This week think on heavenly things! Mostly think about the heart Elohiym placed in you! Is their a plumbline for you in the near future or better said, right next to your heart?. Only He knows. Blessed be his Holy Name!
Next time Elohiym be willing, be prepared to focus more on Amos the Seer.
