Therewith bless we Elohiym (God), even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of Elohiym (God). Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be . Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure , then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
There are many descriptions of water in the book we call our manual for living. Theres rivers of living water that is used for sustenance and lack of thirst. This water is refreshing and sweet to the soul, brings great peace and joy, knowledge and wisdom in a world where those things are lacking. Then theirs flood waters, raging waters, and bitter waters that are destructive to the body and not even fit to drink. In this series of verses James points out a fountain, a distinction is made of salt water and fresh water. Though salt water is good for preserving meat it's destructive to the body for nourishment when it's used for the wrong things. However fresh water the water that comes from above is pure, peaceable, meek and gentle, therefore when used for cleaning fruit we bare is therefore able to prepare it for us to consume, because it's easy to be intreated, and full of mercy. This describes surely the true word of Elohiym (God). What kind of water should we prefer? Exodus 15:23-25, and can we hear Davids petition in Psalm 51:6-7. Maybe it depends on what we are using it for. May the Adonai (Lord) grant us the wisdom to know.
