A Song of Ascents.
" I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- From whence comes my help. My help comes from the Adonai (Lord), Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Adonai (Lord) is your keeper; The Adonai (Lord) is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Adonai (Lord) shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Adonai (Lord) shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore. "
Keeper=Shamar (hebrew)-guard, observe, give heed, keep watch, guard, protect,
Watchman, to observe, celebrate, keep sabbath, covenant, or command, preserve.
(quoted six times in this one small chapter)
When we need help, where do we turn, who do we look to? In all our conquest for righteousness with lifted up eyes, not eyes looking at the person next to you alone or solely depending on the one in front of you or even behind you, but like the psalmist knowing that all these may be temporary, and even shaken.
Knowing that he whom keeps us, watches us and protects us. He alone shelters us and covers us, he is called the Adonai Tsava (Lord of Host) whom has 70,000 thousand angels of his at his beck and call at a moments notice, in the twinkling of an eye.
Never sleeping, never swaying, never falling short, never forsaking, never changing. Eternal, not temporary, and Omniscient, Omnipotent, never shaken and Omnipresent, Holy and Glorious. The Keeper of all men, for his glory. May this glory fill the temples! Look for this help, this eternal Warrior who has the power of all powers, principalites and dark rulers of this world even in his nail pierced hands, all must submit to his glory and might.,,,,,,Yes we may need help, but because of who it is we seek, the one your eyes have been lifted to, your foot shall not slip because of he whom holds it in place. You shall be preserved from all evil. Fear leaves, doubt flees and grace enters! You are our Keeper and our rearguard! Thank you dear Abba, Our Keeper, Our Adonai (Lord)! We say Amen! Blessing and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honour and power, and might be unto our Elohiym (God) forever and ever Amen!
Shabbat Shalom
