1 Corinthians 6:18-20

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (NIV)

Flee from sexual immorality.  All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.

This is not a popular subject.  God created sex, and it is meant to be enjoyed within the bonds of marriage.  I know that there may be protests from other people, who feel that since God created sex, that everyone should enjoy it.  This is the single most controversial subject that folks avoid talking about.  The long and short of it is that if you are not legally married (and I do mean sharing the same last name), then you don’t have any business having sex.  I know that the Word of God says that it’s better to marry than to burn.  But how many lives have been destroyed and broken due to premarital and extramarital sex?  Not to mention other forms of sex that leave people confused, send others to jail, and are beyond twisted and evil?  We as the church have to speak more about this, and stop beating people over the head with the right and wrong about it.  We have to have candid talks about it, share experiences, so that someone will not go through what we may have done, and a lot of people can seek healing and deliverance, so that when they do marry, it will be for the right reasons, as well as for God to bless them with a healthy attitude and sexuality, saved for their spouse, and the intimacy that comes along with it.
