Dear Father God,
We come to you today on behalf of the many, many individuals and families in this country who have been hit by the forces of nature and their lives have been turned upside down and their very homes destroyed. Father, please help to let them know that you are still God and are still with them. Into every life rain must fall and even sometimes the storms must come. But our Faith must help us get through it. It is our love of the Lord which will sustain us. Lord, let us learn as a country that we have to begin to put Thee First: Not money; Not greed; Not politics; Not avarice; Not cruelty to one's fellow man and to countries throughout the world. Lord help us as a country to know that we have failed Thee. Sometimes I believe You have used these powerful ways to get our attention. Lord, it is not up to us to question why these disasters take place. It is up to us to come through the fire as Pure Gold. It is based upon the way we are learning to treat our neighbor, and our neighbor may be miles away from us. Father, come to your people, I pray. Help municipalities, states and our nation learn that we must come together to solve the problems of a disaster. Lord help us to keep the Faith such as have the people across the world who had to resist and rebuild from forceful tsunamis and earthquakes and other such disasters. Lord, for those of us who have been spared, let us vow to do what we can to help those who are in need. Father is we only can utter a prayer on behalf of these others, then we must at least do that. When we do have the financial means to assist, Lord help us be willing and able to lend our finances. Lord we love Thee and count upon Thee to restore the world to the goodness that you long for it to become. We vow to do what we are able to do to help make it so in the name of Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
