Isaiah 2:3 (NIV)

…He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths…

In the Old Testament, the Jews were instructed to teach the laws of the Lord, otherwise known as the Ten Commandments, along with the books of the Law (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), to each generation, so that they wouldn’t stray from Him.  While they still hold to this tradition to this day, us Gentiles have lost sight of this practice.  We need to be an example, and bring, not send, our children to church, and have an intimate and personal relationship with God for ourselves, so that we can guide our children in His footsteps, so that they can develop coping mechanisms for how to deal with everyday life.  You would be surprised at how much they watch us.  If we aren’t screaming about everything wrong, but on our knees, in tears and petition to the Lord, they will do the same.
