Hebrews 11:1-6 defines Faith .This is the only place in the Bible defines faith. Time and time again the Bible discusses faith and the great importance of it
Let us name a few men you stepped out on faith

Sarah's Faith. Impossible Faith
Her rewards the promised son and nation
What does faith means.? The Biblical. Definition is
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The word "substance"(hupostasis)means the foundation ,assurance ,title-deeds,and guarantee of things hoped for. The word "evidence" (elegchos) means conviction
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen"
Notice faith is being described as an act, an act of the mind and heart. That is our heart and mind believing something and we have assurance and conviction that it is true
Look at verse 3
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The basic understanding of faith that God has made the world some say that is only an assumption that is the building point in. Christian's beliefs and theology.
Through the word of God the written revelation of God
We have the understanding that God is (exists) and that he created the world. When we look at the origin of the word
Verse 6
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
This means a living, active faith, a faith that knows and follows God, communes and fellowship with God .without faith a Pearson cannot be accepted by God. Without faith we would have to plow through all the trials of life alone all suffering, diseases, and death .
The reward of faith is Gods Approval
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Jhn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Faith a Pearson can grow in faith and power. Faith and power can be developed by doing two things
By practicing hope. ( Heb. 11;1), that is, by hoping for something and claiming it because because God has promised it
By diligently seeking God (Heb.11;6) it means to "hunger and thirst after righteousness (Mt.5:1
To "ask...seek...knock (Mt.7:7-8)
To " seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness " (Mt.6:33)
Ps 46 speaks of divine works as the bass of faith
