Abuse of Authority in the Church
A Biblical Perspective of Leadership
by Jason Young
A sad and unfortunate fact in many Christian churches and organizations today is that pastors, teachers and other elders exert or attempt to exert a heavy-handed, authoritarian type of control over their membership. While many of these leaders are well meaning, frequently authoritarianism is rooted in a hunger for power and control. These leaders rationalize and defend…

Matthew 28:1–20 This is the day men give candy and roses to their wives or sweethearts. For me it usually means a dinner out or a weekend away. This day of celebration is in honor of the love between a man and a woman. It is interesting that the symbol of this day is a heart and the colors used to decorate are red and white. The greatest love story ever told also involves the heart and the colors red and white. On the cross Jesus died because the weight of our sin broke His heart, but because…

To My Valentine, Sweet Jesus!
I love you Jesus, I worship and adore you, Just want to tell that I love you more than anything. I love you Jesus I do love you truly because you have been with me through thick and thin. Today's Prayer
Dear God, Thank you for always being with me. Please help me, and remind me, not to react to situations in a fleshly manner. When I am faced with vicious gossip or wrongdoing against me or something I strongly disagree with, please help me to remain silent when I should and to speak with calm wisdom when called for, but to never lose my temper or just "react." I want to act like a Christian should act. I want to be a testimony for my Lord and Savior. I want to remain…

I AM IN PAIN MY LORD
I am in pain my Lord,
and I surrender to it with love,
for thy has gone through worse for us,
through your Sacred Blood, your Sacred Heart,
your Infinite Love.
I know that through these shadows thou will reach for me,
extending your hand, lifting my soul,
and making it shine and twinkle,
like one of your stars My Lord.
I have no… Continue

There have been many atrocities done to others in the name of religion, but that's not God's fault. It's mans wrong interpretation of the Bible. God can't be blamed for the wrong actions of others. He didn't make them do it. Christians are often seen as "hypocrites" because we don't follow the Bible fully. Once we become Christians we aren't perfect. We try to live by the Bible's teaching but sometime we fail. But God knows our hearts and he can…

Sharing Our Faith 1 John 4:14-15
We live in a world that seeks to function apart from the Lord. Its attention is centered on man and his desires. The tragedy is that people without Christ are under God's judgment for all eternity. This includes those who attend church but do not have a personal relationship with the Savior (Matt. 7:21-23).
As Christ's ambassadors, believers are to be prepared to share the gospel (2 Cor. 5:20). Here are…

The Riches of Grace Ephesians 1:3-8
Scripture says that Jesus chose to become poor--leaving heaven and everything that belonged to Him as God's Son--so we might become rich (2 Cor. 8:9). Those riches of grace are described in Ephesians 1. We are . . .
• Chosen by God. Since we belong to the Lord, life has purpose, and we are eternally secure.
• Liberated. Every one of us was in slavery to sin and unable to free ourself. "The…

I thank God, for all of His, manifold blessing He has bestowed upon me and my family, friend and acquaintances. He has heard the prayers of many who went before us many hundred years ago. He has taken a people of color from the "Outhouse to the White House". He, has put many things in place; for us to move forward into the blessings He, has in store for us.
"But you
are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praise…

Living beyond unmerited favor from a love that only comes from above
When we can remember that the life we live is but a mere vapor
Then we will begin to understand the reverence for God
Why we must honor and obey His Word as we diligently seek his face
Staying in the Will of God is how we sustain living beyond the grace
When we step outside of His will we lose the blessed covering and protection of His love and peace
When we walk upright before our Lord and Savior…

The Dalai Lama and the Dog Boy
From Passionate Presence By Catherine Ingram
The following story is a true experience that Catherine Ingram had while in India...
Over twenty years ago, while staying in Bodh Gaya, India, my friends and I began hearing rumors about a boy who had allegedly been found among wild dogs. The rumor in town was that his seemingly canine behavior, lack of speech, inability to walk upright or to eat with his hands indicated that he had probably…

Glorious Sunday Morning,
John 19:33-35
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
It’s under the blood

Father God we…
