,,, and as they did from the time I ordered judges to be over my people Isra'el; instead, I will subdue all your enemies. "'Moreover, I tell you that ADONAI (LORD) will make you a house.
When your days come to an end and you go to be with your ancestors, I will establish one of your descendants to succeed you, one of your own sons; and I will set up his rulership.
He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.
I will be a father for him, and he will be a son for me; I will not take my grace away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.
Rather, I will maintain him in my house and in my kingdom forever; and his throne will be set up forever."
Banah=to build, rebuild, establish, cause to continue
(Qal)

On the surface many have read this concourse and applied it to the "temple" that Solomon would build. But a little dive under the waters tell us there a a greater architectural plan derived here.
David with his heart of love has come to a point of remorse, we see this in the beginning of the chapter. He may have thought, "Have I not been a good minister unto the Adonai (Lord) who has loved me so?" "I live" he says, in a fine earthly home with riches beyond my imagination. But the most precious commodity that we hold dear is just behind a lowly curtain.
We understand this today, don't we? As we look at the mercies and goodnesses emitted to us by our Elohiym (God) we can't imagine that we have ever done enough in greatfulness or ever could.
And how men have tried! from gold laid doors of intriquite patterns, paintings by a master artist, lavish materials costly and precious. Yet none of these measure up to the "Building" spoken of by Elohiym (God).
We labor to keep these buildings up, attempting to dedicate every fiber of its hewn stones and lavish marbles and colored threads, unto the Adonai (God), even leaving the sheepfold longing and with out the necessities that should tend the lives of the poor, the widow and the fatherless. Can we tell you a little secret? He knew! He knew all these things would be so. For his response through the prophet Nathan to king David, very well showed his sentiments.
Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying , Why have ye not built me an house of cedars? (verse 6)
All this time we have fellowshipped and we spoke, all this time I succored you and moved amongst my people, from tabernacle to tent have I ever asked for such a thing as a house build with mere cedar? Do you not understand the house I'm going to build, David? Can you hear him asking you the same question?
"Moreover, I tell you that ADONAI (LORD) will make you a house. "
For eons man would attempt to build a house for Elohiym (God) to dwell in, one we would look on proudly for it's glamour. And eventaully ones by delusions of grandeur we would be so proud of that we even lose sight of who it was we built it for.
"And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down ." Mark 13:1-2
Could'nt we just be satisfied for the house that Elohiym (God) would build?
But Elohiym (God) knows the heart of man, even though fickle, his love for him hardly ever denies him of the things he desires and thinks is honorable to an Almighty Master Builder.
David wanted to build the house, but instead he is told of a different plan of construction. Davids house would have eventually fallen, Solomons house would meet destruction, but this was a sure house, one that would not see corruption or destruction. Who's very doorways would be the entrance of the many souls that lack hope and vitality. One whose windows would open and the presence of joy would flow through from every inch. A sacrificial house that everyone that wanted to call on the name of YHVH in prayer and repentance would be valued as a sweet smelling savor to his nostrils. He would be even the very head stone of it's corners, for David himself would later write,,,,,,
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. Psalms 118:22
of it's foundation and without him the house would surely crumble. One that would be built with mortar or with brick, for it's design has not been Mastered by any thee builders hands. But this fine house would be more precious than all of the costly gold of Ophir and all of the stones on the arch of Solomons gate. He will be established and "I will manage it" says the Adonai (Lord) and he will last in my Kingdom and at my righthand forever, O beloved David.
David does'nt know how he got here, or why all this is happening but he is greatful beyond measure. You can tell by his response, his part of the end of this wonderful equation.
Do we realize that every house built unto His glory in this day would represent His house? Think we would treat Him any different?
Whether we do or not, when the builder of the house is Elohiym (God) we can with tender heart hear our Messiah say,,,,
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told *you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2
We'll keep asking to build and he'll keep answering in the same way he answered David,,,,," Moreover I tell you that ADONAI, will MAKE YOU A HOUSE."
And Jesus answered and said , while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? Mark 12:35
And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever. 1 Samuel 2:35
Can we not just be happy with the house that Elohiym built?
Psalms 122:1 KJV
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
Or are we representing the wrong houses?
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? . For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Today lets remember whose house it is we dwell in, how wonderful his courts are to us, with every hole from the nails and every bruise and stripe. Holy and beautiful is the temple of our Elohiym!!!
And secondly we ask,
How's the construction going on the house he fashioned for you? Hmmmm?
We'll leave you with an enlightenment of glory from the one that started this whole conversation in the first place, see David eventaully got it,,,,, The question is can we?
"And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said . 26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying , The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee. " 1 Samuel 7:26
" Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever." 1 Samuel 7:29
While we waste our time trying to build up houses that Elohiym has not built? Are we giving the proper value to the ones that he has? Giving Holy honors this day to the true Builder of the House! Halleluyah!
Dear Abba, bless this day your whole house of Israel that you have constructed with your Mighty hands, out of the very seed of your servant David, we praise you. Keep her courts and her porches. As we dedicate back to you all the temples that still yet stand. That could not be hewn down by wicked men, or our enemies. Shower them with the light of your glory that you may be magnified as men gaze upon your temples. Create in them clean hearts and restore the very headstone that you so graciously made for their stability and forgive us our arrogance in thinking we could ever build anything greater than your house. Asking for your mercy and that you would see fit to restore your Throne in the midst of this place. Lift your banner before them that all may know and give glory to you Father the Master Builder of the House. Make them your place of prayer and all supplication in thanksgiving unto you. Be you exalted, high and lifted up that all may see and be drawn to you. And hear the cry of your people in this house, that even the wicked and heathen may look in wonder at all the grace, mercy and praise that you have gathered unto your people in order to furnish them, and lift up the sure house that you made of your Son, our precious Adonai and Savior Yahshua (Jesus) the Messiah. For thine and thine alone is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever, Halleluyah dear Abba, Halleluyah.
Shabbat Shalom
