Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
In Mark 14:35-37, when Jesus entered the garden of Gethsemane, he took some of his disciples including Peter with him. Jesus' soul was heavy. He knew he faced the cross but he needed to pray for the Father's will. Jesus asked the disciples to pray as well. However, when he returned from kneeling in prayer, he found them sleeping. Jesus said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn't you watch for one hour? Then Jesus warned: Watch and pray less you enter into temptation. The spirit is truly ready, but the flesh is weak."
Remember today to stay awake both naturally and spiritually. Proverbs 6: 9-11. It reads, "How long will thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep , a little slumber, a little folding of hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travails, and thy want like an armed man." On this day, stay alert both naturally and spiritual. 1Peter 5:8. It reads, Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour." Work while it is still day.
