Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer

VERSE:

Psalm 49 (King James Version)

Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: Both low and high, rich and poor, together. My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

COMMENTARY:

We seldom meet with a more solemn introduction: there is no truth of greater importance. Let all hear this with application to ourselves. The poor are in danger from undue desire toward the wealth of the world, as rich people from undue delight in it. The psalmist begins with applying it to himself, and that is the right method in which to treat of Divine things. Before he sets down the folly of carnal security, he lays down, from his own experience, the benefit and comfort of a holy, gracious security, which they enjoy who trust in God, and not in their worldly wealth. In the day of judgment, the iniquity of our heels, or of our steps, our past sins, will compass us. In those days, worldly, wicked people will be afraid; but wherefore should a man fear death who has God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus with him? Here is a description of the spirit and way of worldly people. A man may have wealth, and may have his heart enlarged in love, thankfulness, and obedience, and may do good with it. Therefore it is not men's having riches that proves them to be worldly, but their setting their hearts upon them as the best things. Worldly men have only some floating thoughts of the things of God, while their fixed thoughts, their inward thoughts, are about the world; that lies nearest the heart. But with all their wealth they cannot save the life of the dearest friend they have. This looks further, to the eternal Redemption to be wrought out by the Messiah. The Redemption of the soul shall cost very dear; but, being once wrought, it shall never need to be repeated. And He, the Redeemer, our Christ, shall rise again before He sees corruption, and then shall live for evermore, Re 1:18. This likewise shows the folly of worldly people, who sell their souls for that which will never buy them. With all their wealth they cannot secure themselves from the stroke of death. Yet one generation after another applaud their maxims; and the character of a fool, as drawn by Heavenly Wisdom itself, Lu 12:16 to 21, continues to be followed even among professed Christians. Death will ask the proud sinner, Where is thy wealth, thy pomp? And in the morning of the resurrection, when all that sleep in the dust shall awake, the upright shall be advanced to the highest honor, when the wicked shall be filled with everlasting shame and contempt, Da 12:2. Let us now judge of things as they will appear in that day. The beauty of Holiness is that alone which the grave cannot touch, or damage.

PRAYER:

Most Precious Father, our God, Lord Christ Jesus, we Your children come before You this day, Thanking You for all that has been done, by Your mighty power. Thank You Lord that we Your children, are all here in the land of the living, and that we know no fear. Thank You Lord that while we slept You kept watch over us, and allowed no harm or danger to come anywhere near us. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, that we are assured that You will never leave or forsake us. Thank You Lord. Lord God, we have known sorrow and suffering, we have sinned and often strayed, Thank You that, for Your Mercy's sake, You do not judge us according to our iniquities, but judge us according to the merits of the shading of Your blood, and Your death. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You for having given us the victory over sin and death. Thank You Lord, Christ Jesus, that You have sent the Holy Spirit to help us correct our sinful ways. And if we suffer because we speak and act as Your children, give us strength to endure it and the wisdom to rejoice in it.Thank You, our Father God, Thank You Christ Jesus. Our hearts are grateful, Savior, for the peace that You have brought to us today. Keep us secure in the knowledge of Your love and continuing forgiveness. Help us throughout this week to remember the words of Your peace. And be with us always, even to the end of the world, according to Your promise. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Beloved Lord, watch over all who are far away from home, family and friends, all who have so little and may be jobless, all who are worried about their illnesses, and all who are tormented by anxieties and cares. we ask that You be with them, love them, and let them know that You are a concerned Father who can be trusted completely, for You have told us and we believe that; Those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You, O my God, in You I trust, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies exult over me, I hate those who regard vain idols, but I trust in the LORD, As for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, 'You are my God, Our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name, Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness, Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it, He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD. How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Do not trust in oppression and do not vainly hope in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart upon them .A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the stronghold in which they trust. O Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus, Thank You Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord please continue to give us Your richest Blessings. Thank You Lord. Thank You.

Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives. Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You.

Amen.
