VERSE:
Psalm 34 (King James Version)
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Te eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
COMMENTARY:
David praises God, and encourages to trust him. If we hope to spend eternity in praising God, it is fit that we should spend much of our time here in this work. He never said to any one, Seek ye me in vain. David's prayers helped to silence his fears; many besides him have looked unto the Lord, Christ Jesus, by Faith and Prayer, and it has wonderfully revived and comforted them. When we look to the world, we are perplexed, and at a loss. But on looking to Christ depends our whole Salvation, and all things needful there unto do so also. This poor man, whom no man looked upon with any respect, or looked after with any concern, was yet welcome to the throne of Grace; the Lord, Christ Jesus, heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The holy angels minister to the saints, and stand for them against the powers of darkness. All the glory be to the Lord of the angels. By taste and sight we both make discoveries, and have enjoyment; Taste and see God's goodness; take notice of it, and take the comfort of it. He makes all truly Blessed that trust in Him. And as to this life, they shall have what is necessary from the hand of Almighty God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Paul had all, and abounded, because he was content, Php 4:11 to 18. Those who trust to themselves, and think their own efforts sufficient for them, shall want; but they shall be fed who trust in the Lord. Those shall not want, for our Lord Christ Jesus, shall supply all their needs, who trust in Him.
PRAYER:
Precious Almighty God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. we come unto You this afternoon in Prayer and Praise. Thank You Lord, that You saw fit to wake us up this morning, and have seen us through this day. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, that You allowed no harm to come near our doors, and that we have no fear of what man can do to us. Thank You Lord that Greater is He that is in us then he that is in this world. Thank You Lord, that no matter what happens or what man tries to do to us, that our minds and hearts are stayed on You. Thank You that have forgiven us our sins, and that You have put them as far from us and east is to west, and remember them no more. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus that through You death on the cross, and shading of Your blood, we know that we have the Victory over sin and death. Thank You Lord, O Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus. You are worthy to be praised, Thank You Lord. Lord God our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, my Shield, my Help, and my Refuge, Thank You for all the Blessings of the past week. Bless us this week, Christ Jesus, for You own sake, give us a peaceful conscience, that we may live a Grace filled life for You. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Thank You that not one Word spoken in Your behalf on Sunday, came back void, that those who took a stand all to Your Glory, that souls were Saved, hearts changed, blinded eyes were open, and Your were well pleased. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. For we seek to be pleasing in Your sight and do Your Holy Will. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord, we are grateful today as always, that You have looked down on us Your children and saw each and everyone of our needs. Thank You that You love us, and have already done that which needs to be done, to protect, feed, cloth, and care for us Your children, given rest to the weary, and take care of all our other needs, that we are calling on You for help. Thank You Lord, that You have heard our cries, and that we know that Your time is not our time, and that we have to just trust in You and wait, and that which You have promised us shall come to pass. Thank You, Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. For You have told us Lord; For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful, For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, It will be said in that day, 'Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation, Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land, I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD, Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; how blessed are all those who long for Him, Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed. Make me know Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day, Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD, The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the LORD, As for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me, My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken, The LORD sustains all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due time, I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning, Therefore, return to your God, observe kindness and justice, and wait for your God continually. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. we ask that You keep and guide us as we go forth into this new week, and Bless us Precious Lord, as we seek to do Your Will. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. we love You Lord Christ Jesus, and will be sure to give You all the Glory.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives.
Amen.
