Our Prayer For Today Friday, October 2, 2009
VERSE:
Psalm 33 (King James Version)
Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
COMMENTARY:
Holy joy is the heart and soul of praise, and that is here pressed upon the righteous. Thankful praise is the breath and language of holy joy. Religious songs are proper expressions of thankful praise. Every endowment we possess, should be employed with all our skill and earnestness in God's service. His promises are all wise and good. His word is right, and therefore we are only in the right when we agree with it. His works are all done in truth. He is the righteous Lord, therefore loveth righteousness. What a pity it is that this earth, which is so full of the proofs and instances of God's goodness, should be so empty of his praises; and that of the multitudes who live upon his bounty, there are so few who live to his glory! What the Lord does, he does to purpose; it stands fast. He overrules all the counsels of men, and makes them serve his counsels; even that is fulfilled, which to us is most surprising, the eternal counsel of God, nor can any thing prevent its coming to pass.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, we come again into Your presence, in Prayer and praise, unto Your Holy name. Thank You Lord, that You saw fit to wake us up unto this another day, to worship and praise Your name. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, that You have kept us from all harm and danger, and that no evil came near our door. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Christ Jesus You made this day, and we rejoice and are glad because of it. Thank you for your protection during the past week, for forgiving our sins. Beloved Christ Jesus give us a grateful heart as we look back over this last week and remember all Your goodness, and love for us, because of Your Grace, not because we deserve it. Thank You Lord, that You looked down from Heaven and have seen the needs of Your children, You saw the man and woman who are heartbroken because of, lack of employment, bad health, no health care, loss of their homes that they worked hard for, marriages that need mending, as only You can do. children that mothers once nursed at their breast, held so lovingly in their arms, fed, washed, and clothed, now lost to horrific evils of drugs, parents on drugs, and all of the other plagues of sin that has taken hold of mankind and You want us all to know that You are in total control, and has already worked things out for our good, even though some of us lack understanding, and that we are to trust in You at all times, for You have taught us; Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the stronghold in which they trust, So that your trust may be in the LORD, I have taught you today, even you, Trust in the LORD forever, for in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock, And again, 'I will put my trust in Him.' And again, 'Behold, I and the children whom God has given me, Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord we Your children trust You, and know that all that You have promised us is done. Thank You for giving the love and care to those who are calling on Your name for help. Thank You that as Your pastors, lay persons, and every man and woman, child, that speaks a word in Your behalf this Sunday, that not one Prayer, or Sermon Preached, note sang, will come back void. Thank You Lord, that You have already went ahead of us, making all the crooked roads straight, You have placed a hedge of protection around our families and all of our concerns. Thank You Lord, Christ Jesus, Thank You. O' Glory To God, our Precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thanks Be unto God, who has give us the Victory, through Christ Jesus, that souls shall be saved, lives changed as Your Word goes forth. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, that none of us fear any man, for we know that You are with us. we have no concern for anything other then doing Your will. Thank You Lord, that You are our protector, and that You will; But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you, Let all people everywhere thank and praise you for your goodness and mercy, for Jesus' sake, But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries, You will laugh at violence and famine, neither will you be afraid of wild beasts, Then you would trust, because there is hope; and you would look around and rest securely. You would lie down and none would disturb you, and many would entreat your favor, May the beloved of the Lord dwell in security by Him, Who shields him all the day, and he dwells between His shoulders. Get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. O' Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus. Blessed Holy Spirit, Counselor and Preserver of the church of God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, You use the means of Grace to awaken and strengthen faith all over the earth. Lord Thank You that You, guide the events of our world so that Your Word might be preached to people everywhere. Thank You that You have Defeated and destroyed the hindrances satan places before us. Lord, use Your gospel in all its forms to bring many more to You our Christ Jesus, the only Savior of mankind. Thank You Lord, that we are ready, willing and able to do Your will in spreading of Your Word. Send us Precious Lord, we will go! for we know that if You be for us, no man can stand against us. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. We Love You Lord, and give Thanks, that the Blessed Holy Spirit will lead and guide us. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, we ask that the Words of our mouths, and the meditation of our hearts, be acceptable to You.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives.
