Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Today, Monday, August 31, 2009
VERSE:
Psalm 8 (King James Version)
O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
COMMENTARY:
God is to be glorified, for making known himself to us. The Psalmist seeks to give unto God the glory due to His name. How bright this glory shines even in this lower world! He is ours, for He made us, protects us, and takes special care of us. The birth, life, preaching, miracles, suffering, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ Jesus are known through the world. No name is so universal, no power and influence so generally felt, as those of the Savior of mankind. But how much brighter it shines in the upper world! We, on this earth, only hear God's excellent name, and praise that; the Angels and Blessed spirits above, see His glory, and praise that; yet He is exalted far above even their Blessing and praise. Sometimes the Grace of God appears wonderfully in young children. Sometimes the power of God brings to pass great things in His Church, by very weak and unlikely instruments, that the excellency of the power might the more evidently appear to be of God, and not of man. This He does, because of His enemies, that He may put them to silence.
PRAYER:
All Glory to You God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus this morning. Thank You once again, that You have saw fit to wake us up, to start a new day, to praise You Lord, for all of Your love You have shown us Your children. Thank You Lord, that You have protected us, and our love ones, and have not allowed any harm or danger to come near our homes. Thank You Lord, that we know that Greater is He, that is in us, then he that is in this world. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord we are so grateful to You, this morning that no matter what comes our way, that we can rest in the knowledge that we are Your children, and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that every voice that speaks out against us will be bought to great shame. Thank You Lord, Thank You. we Know Lord that Your eyes are on the sparrow, so we can be assured that You watches over us also. Thank You Lord, Thank You, O Bless that wonderful, name of Christ Jesus. Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You for coming to this world to be our Savior. Thank You for leaving Your heavenly home, taking the form of a servant, and humbling Yourself to be our substitute. Thank You for Your perfect obedience, by which You set an example for us. Help us express our appreciation for all You have done for us by living every day for You. Help us please You by being true disciples in all we think and say and do, all to Your Glory. Dear Father in heaven, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, because You are kind, You let us start another week. Motivate us to start the week off right, let us listen to Your Word, believe it, and live it according to Your will. Thank You Lord, Thank You. we love You Lord, and seek only to please You. Dear Creator and Preserver of life, frailties of body and soul plague each of us. We come to You on behalf of those who are confined to sickbeds, Lord asking You to ease their pain, restore their health, and allow them to return to their daily activities. Enable them to see their sickness as an opportunity to give Glory to You. Because You sent Jesus to take away the lasting effects of sin and disease, comfort us Your children with the timeless message of Your love. Renew in us the certain hope of eternal life. And grant us all joy in living now and in eternity, for Christ Jesus sake. we know what You have told us through Your Holy Word, and we believe it to be true, that by Your stripes we are healed, my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. You told us that, For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you, The LORD is for me among those who help me; therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me, For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong, For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD, Even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction, now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus, for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life, this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us, now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe, for to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, I love those who love me; and those who diligently seek me will find me, the LORD keeps all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy, just as it is written, things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him, it shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil. He will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied. Thank You Lord, Thank You, that Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Thank You. All Glory to God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Lord You know just what all of us, Your children are in need of this day. And we know that Your will for us has already been done. Thank You Lord, that all of our needs have already been met. Thank You Lord. Thank You. we give You Lord all of the Glory and Praise this day, as always.
Now unto Him who is more then able to keep us, until the day of His coming, We give You Thanks this day, most Beloved Christ Jesus, as every day for the rest of our lives. Father, this day, i in the Precious name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in the Holy and Precious name of Christ Jesus. i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies, souls and minds, into Your loving, caring, mighty hands Lord Christ Jesus.
