Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Today, Tuesday, August 11, 2009
VERSE:
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, 'My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!:" Psalm 91:1-2
Commentary:
He that by faith chooses God for his protector, shall find all in him that he needs or can desire. And those who have found the comfort of making the Lord their refuge, cannot but desire that others may do so. The spiritual life is protected by Divine grace from the temptations of Satan, which are as the snares of the fowler, and from the contagion of sin, which is a noisome pestilence. Great security is promised to believers in the midst of danger. Wisdom shall keep them from being
afraid without cause, and faith shall keep them from being unduly afraid. Whatever is done, our heavenly Father's will is done; and we have no reason to fear. God's people shall see, not only God's promises fulfilled, but his threatenings. Then let sinners come unto the Lord upon his mercy-seat, through the Redeemer's name; and encourage others to trust in him also. (Ps 91:9-16)
PRAYER:
Most Precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, who is Lord of our lives, we come before you this morning, Thanking You, forgiving us of all our sins, for having provided for us and protected us each day of our lives. You are truly our loving Father. For this we Thank You, Lord, Thank You. We Thank You for providing for our daily needs. We Thank You for Your rich Blessings. We Thank You for protecting us from all evil, for guarding us in perilous times, and for defending us from all our enemies. We haven't done anything to deserve this goodness, but we ask You to continue to Bless us, Thank You Lord, Christ Jesus. Almighty Lord and Savior, every day we fight evil in our lives, arm and equip us with Your own weapons for those battles. Teach us to wear the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation and to use effectively the "sword of the Spirit," which is Your Holy Word. Use Your power to keep us safe until we live eternally safe with you in heaven. Thank You Lord, Thank You. For You have told us; "'No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,' declares the LORD." O Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus, Thank You Lord. Thank You. Thank You that You know the needs of everyone of us, and that Your perfect will has already been done, in our lives. Thank You Lord, Christ Jesus, Thank You. For You, is our Lord, our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust. You are the God, whom we love and desire to obey.
We Pray, and proclaim these things already done, in the Precious name of Christ Jesus.
