Our Prayer For Today Wednesday, September 9, 2009

VERSE:

Psalm 15 (King James Version)

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

COMMENTARY:

The way to heaven, if we would be happy, we must be holy. We are encouraged to walk in that way. Here is a very serious question concerning the character of a citizen of Zion. It is the happiness of glorified saints, that they dwell in the holy hill; they are at home there, they shall be for ever there. It concerns us to make it sure to ourselves that we have a place among them. A very plain and particular answer is here given. Those who desire to know their duty, will find the Scripture a very faithful director, and conscience a faithful monitor. A citizen of Zion is sincere in his religion. He is really what he professes to be, and endeavours to stand complete in all the will of God. He is just both to God and man; and, in speaking to both, speaks the truth in his heart. He scorns and abhors wrong and fraud; he cannot reckon that a good bargain, nor a saving one, which is made with a lie; and knows that he who wrongs his neighbour will prove, in the end, to have most injured himself. He is very careful to do hurt to no man. He speaks evil of no man, makes not others' faults the matter of his common talk; he makes the best of every body, and the worst of nobody. If an ill-natured story be told him, he will disprove it if he can; if not, it goes no further. He values men by their virtue and piety. Wicked people are vile people, worthless, and good for nothing; so the word signifies. He thinks the worse of no man's piety for his poverty and mean condition. He reckons that serious piety puts honour upon a man, more than wealth, or a great name. He honours such, desires their conversation and an interest in their prayers, is glad to show them respect, or do them a kindness. By this we may judge of ourselves in some measure. Even wise and good men may swear to their own hurt: but see how strong the obligation is, a man must rather suffer loss to himself and his family, than wrong his neighbour. He will not increase his estate by extortion, or by bribery. He will not, for any gain, or hope of it to himself, do any thing to hurt a righteous cause. Every true living member of the church, like the church itself, is built upon a Rock. He that doeth these things shall not be moved for ever. The grace of God shall always be sufficient for him. The union of these tempers and this conduct, can only spring from repentance for sin, faith in the Saviour, and love to him. In these respects let us examine and prove our own selves.

PRAYER:

Most precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, We rise this morning in deep gratitude, Giving You all the praise and Thanking You, Holy Father, that You have saw fit to keep us, through out the night, and brought us to this, another day. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord, friend of sinners, we are weak. Arm us with Your Word, so we can stand up against satan's attacks. Give us wisdom to see that the devil tries to distract us from your Word. Keep us Lord Christ Jesus, vigilant in our Christian life, that we may avoid those things that may hurt our souls. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord we know that You love us, and would never leave or forsake us. Thank You Lord. Dear Heavenly Father, the fruit of the Spirit is gentleness and kindness. These are two aspects of our Christianity that we need to show in our lives. You as our Savior was the perfect example of Christian firmness coupled with gentleness and kindness. Grant that, in dealing with other people, we show the same virtue. May these virtues in us make this world a better, quieter, safer, and happier place to live. Make us, today, gentle, kind Christians, all to Your Glory. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. What a Mighty God we serve, that You sit high and look low, and see every need that we have. Lord, You told us to ask, anything of You and it shall be done. So Lord we come before You, asking in Your precious name, that those that are hurting, lost, without hope, the man or woman who feel that their Marriage is over, the unemployable, the unemployed, the sick, the mother, father who are concerned about their children, that You Lord will stretch out Your mighty hand and touch their hearts, let them hear a Word from You, and know Lord that You know what they are going through, and that You are working things out for their good. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. For You told us through Your Holy Word that; and my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you, May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, save the children of the needy and crush the oppressor, believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household, for the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord we are not afraid of any one, for we know that know and believe what You have told us that; no weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,' declares the LORD, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved, therefore also we have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to him, you did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him, In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him, wherefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God, but as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh not of the will of man, but of God, now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, is any one fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, so that we confidently say, 'THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME? Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. O' that we Bless That wonderful name of Christ Jesus, the only name by which any man can be saved. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord we love You, and are all so grateful to You, for all that You have done for us, and once again as everyday. Lead us Beloved Christ Jesus, in the path in which You would have us go. Thank You Lord and Savior, Thank You.

Now unto You our most Beloved Christ Jesus, who by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Himself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Precious Beloved Christ Jesus. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, Christ Jesus, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

Amen.
