Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Today Wednesday, June 24, 2009
VERSE:
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You
guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into
glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I
desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the
strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:23-26
THOUGHT:
In times of confusion, we can take comfort that while we may not
understand everything while here on earth (read Psalm 73:1-22), God will be faithful. Everything we have and know here on earth is
subject to decay, but our relationship with the LORD is our
strength forever. He will not abandon, fail, or forget us.
PRAYER:
Almighty God, thank You for being with us always, especially in
those moments when life is most confusing and our fears most
troubling. Please give us faith to not only ask You honest
questions, but to also trust You even when things don't look like
they are all that good for those who believe in You. Please help our
faith hold firm as we wait for Your mighty vindication of Your
people.
Almighty God, from Your Word we know that You created a world of beauty, peace, and joy. But by man's disobedience all was spoiled and we see the resulting hard reality of death and violence. We give thanks that You did not forsake the lost world, but instead have given us the river of Your love and mercy in the gift of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who suffered to take away our guilt and restore us to peace and joy eternal.
Grant that we may be always mindful of the frailty of earthly things, and comfort especially those who have suffered great losses in the train wreck in our Nation's Capital. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, that you alone can bind up the broken hearted and dry the tears, of the love ones who are left to morn their tragic deaths.
Move our hearts and hands to share as we are able with those in need of earthly support and above all to share the river of God's love and mercy in the Good News of our Rescuer Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
Lord Christ Jesus You know what each and every one of us Your children stand in need of, Thank You Lord that we can proclaim this day, by Faith in You that, it is all ready done!
For You have told us through Your word, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". Philippians 4:6
Thank You Lord, Glory to God, Thank You, Beloved Christ Jesus.
For we know that, "God is our refuge and strength . . . Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam . . . There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells."
In The Holy name of Christ Jesus,
