VERSE:
Psalm 90 (King James Version)
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
COMMENTARY:
It is supposed that this psalm refers to the sentence passed on Israel in the wilderness, Nu 14. The favour and protection of God are the only sure rest and comfort of the soul in this evil world. Christ Jesus is the refuge and dwelling-place to which we may repair. We are dying creatures, all our comforts in the world are dying comforts, but God is an ever-living God, and believers find him so. When God, by sickness, or other afflictions, turns men to destruction, he thereby calls men to return unto him to repent of their sins, and live a new life. A thousand years are nothing to God's eternity: between a minute and a million of years there is some proportion; between time and eternity there is none. All the events of a thousand years, whether past or to come, are more present to the Eternal Mind, than what was done in the last hour is to us. And in the resurrection, the body and soul shall both return and be united again. Time passes unobserved by us, as with men asleep; and when it is past, it is as nothing. It is a short and quickly-passing life, as the waters of a flood. Man does but flourish as the grass, which, when the winter of old age comes, will wither; but he may be mown down by disease or disaster. The Good News here is that we have a Savior, Christ Jesus whom we can go to in times of trouble. Our Lord has promised us that He will never leave or forsake us, and that no matter what You are going through, no matter how dark things may be in Your life now, hold on help is on it way. For our Lord has told us; No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it, The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
PRAYER:
Most Holy Mighty Lord God, our most Precious Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You that we again have made it into this another day, to praise and serve You. Thank You Lord, that You alone has kept us for harm. Thank You that while we slept You kept watch over us. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Almighty God, the Father, Lord Christ Jesus, You do not desire the death of sinners, but rather that they turn from their wickedness and live. we Pray this day, and implore You to touch their hearts, open their ears, so that they will turn from their evil deeds, and call on Your name Christ Jesus, the only name by which any man can be saved. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. We Thank You this day Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, that all of our sins are forgiven and that You have granted us the gift of the Holy Spirit, that our minds, hearts, and lives be mended, and do those things that please You until at last we come to Your eternal joy. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Thank Be Unto God, who has given us the victory over sin and death. O' let us Bless That Wonderful Name Of Christ Jesus. Your praise Lord God Christ Jesus, shall forever be in our mouths. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all the day, and by Your righteousness they are exalted, You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound, For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands, The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does valiantly." Thank You Lord God, Thank You. Most Holy Father, we as that You Bless all of us Your children this day. You know what each and everyone of us stand in need of. You know our laying down and getting up. You alone are our judge and You alone know the secret desires of our hearts. Thank You Lord that once again You have made a way out of no way for us. Thank You Lord that You know that we suffer trouble on every side, we are forever misunderstood, ridiculed, and lied on and abused, but we know that in all of this, we are more then conquers, and able to over come and achieve victory, over all the powers of this world, through You, who have assured us that we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. So we fear no man, for You did not give us a Spirit of fear, but of sound mind, marked by the ability to withstand stress without our faith be tossed to and fro, for we stand on a Solid Rock, that is Your Holy Word, and we know that, If anyone fiercely assails us it will not be from You. For You have told us; Whoever assails you will fall because of you. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. 'But I will deliver you on that day,' declares the LORD, and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you dread. 'For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not fall by the sword; but you will have your own life as booty, because you have trusted in Me,' declares the LORD, Do not be afraid of sudden fear nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes; for the LORD will be your confidence And will keep your foot from being caught. Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent, The sins of some men are quite evident, going before them to judgment; for others, their sins follow after, Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, Judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment, Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it, It is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?, You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, Each one of us will give an account of himself to God, The one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more, In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy, It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery, Keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man, I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment, It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus for we know that; We who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For You have told us; "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. we ask You Blessing on every man and woman who calls on Your Holy name this day Lord, and that You have Mercy on those who have yet to know You as their Blessed Savior. Praying Your perfect will in our lives this day and forever. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, we love You Lord, and give You all the glory.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives.
Amen.
