Psalm 89 (King James Version)
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them. Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm. The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them. COMMENTARY:
Here we see God's mercy and truth, and his covenant. Though our expectations may be disappointed, yet God's promises are established in the Heavens, in His eternal counsels; they are out of the reach of opposers in hell and earth. And faith in the boundless mercy and everlasting truth of God, may bring comfort even in the deepest trials. The more God's works are known, the more they are admired. And to praise the Lord, is to acknowledge Him to be such a one that there is none like Him. Surely then we should feel and express reverence when we worship God. But how little of this appears in our congregations, and how much cause have we to humble ourselves on this account! That almighty power which smote Egypt, will scatter the enemies of the Church, while all who trust in God's mercy will rejoice in His name; for mercy and truth direct all he does. His counsels from eternity, and their consequences to eternity, are all justice and judgment.
PRAYER:
Most Precious and Holy God, our Father in Heaven. we come before You this day in Prayer and praise. Thank You Father God, that You have seen fit to wake us up this morning, in our right minds, and with our hearts stayed on You. Thank You Lord that You allowed no harm or danger to come unto us. Thank You Lord that as we start out this new day, that You know that we desire, that all we say, do, think, be to Your Glory. Thank You Lord that, Greater is He that is in us, then he that is in this world. Most Precious Lord our Almighty God, we ask that if any one of us have sinned that You forgive us. Thank You Lord and Savior that we know that if we confess our sins, then You will be faithful to forgive. Thank You Lord God, that Your shading of Your blood on the cross, has paid the price in full for not only us, but for the sins of the world. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. O' Bless That Wonderful Name Of Christ Jesus, The Only Name By Which Any Man Can Be Saved. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. For this let everything that have breath praise Your Holy Name. I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth, I will also praise You with a harp, even Your truth, O my God; to You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives.
