Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Daddy’s Little Girl – Part 1
Good Morning, and praise the Lord. We are beginning a new series titled Daddy’s Little Girl. Please turn with me to Genesis chapter 2.
Genesis 2
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
This is the beginning of how God created the first man and woman. From the start, the Lord made woman from the rib of a man. That means that she is not the head, nor the tail, but beside the man.
Now let’s delve deeper into this, because every woman that names the name of Christ is Daddy’s little girl, but there are some things that we need to learn that is the divine order of things. Society would have us to believe that we’re able to be large and in charge of things, and that we don’t need a man, except for sex and to keep a house with. Notice that I didn’t say marry, because they think that it’s a thing of the past, and not necessary anymore.
It’s unfortunate that the world thinks this way, because here we see that it wasn’t that way at first. Adam made a declaration about his wife that echoes through the echelons of time. “…this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh…” If more men would think of the one who has captured your heart in this way, then you would have the answer from God as to who you should marry.
While I’m there, let me say this. Brothers, a true woman of God isn’t trying to get your attention and asking you out. If you’re praying for a wife, you should be serving the Lord wholeheartedly so much so that He will have to tap you on the shoulder in order to point her out. She will be a chaste woman, a virgin, or if she isn’t, one who is keeping herself for marriage and not hooking up with every Tom, Dick and Harry.
You won’t meet a virtuous woman at the club, or the bar, or on Facebook. I know that many a man said that you can find a good girl at church, but your only focus is to serve the Lord with gladness and come before His presence with singing, not to check out which fly honey you can bring home after service. I’m just trying to help somebody today.
Sisters, if you’re praying for a man of God, you will not find him on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest or Snapchat. Stop looking at the single socials, and fill your heart, mind, soul and spirit with the presence of the Lord. Read Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. Those four books of the bible will give you wisdom, understanding and center you into His will to the point that you won’t have time to worry about whose getting married. If it’s in His will, don’t worry. Boaz will find you, and you don’t have to look for him.
One of the problems with women today is that their heads have been gassed up to think that men are not needed nor wanted, because of past hurt. Remember that God created Adam first, and was his job to provide for his family. Eve was the one who was the weaker vessel, who jacked things up for the generations to follow, because she didn’t have the wherewithal to resist the enemy.
That’s the whole point that I’m trying to make. We as women don’t know the power that the Lord has given us, not to bat our Maybelline eyelashes at a brother, or to swing our big booty Judy hips, but to stay in the word and wait on Him. Many a man has been brought down by women who have the wrong motives and plans to catch Mr. Right.
Usually, this is because of the fact that we may not have gotten the right examples of godly women and/or men to see how we should be treated. Yes, we should be treated with dignity and respect, but how are we treating ourselves? What we need to do is to look in the mirror and ask God to show us ourselves, and be silent before Him as He begins to tell us.
Don’t shrink away from it, because it will be healing and therapeutic for us. If your father wasn’t in the home, or involved in your life, then you will have a problem with parental authority from a male. Let me say something that will free you today. No matter whether your father was there or not, if every male authority figure has disappointed you or taken advantage of you, please don’t believe the lie of the enemy that says that all men are no good. The devil is a liar. There are some good men that will treat you with honor, whether they are in a relationship with you or not.
Don’t let your bad experiences cause you to set yourself up for failure in relationships. There are some men who really are only meant to be friends with you, and nothing more. No romance, just a friendship. Let the Lord heal you from your damaged emotions and begin to open yourself up to Him, so that He can teach you how to have a platonic relationship with men, as well as to not hate the sisterhood.
Even if you’ve been hurt by women, there is no excuse for you to not create relationships with them. At some point you will have to ask God for discernment in order to find out who you can allow into your life, and who to trust, as opposed to keeping the wall up, which has you in bondage. There are going to be some women that I will highlight in the word of God, not the ordinary ones that we’re used to hearing about, but some that will make you think about what we’re doing and how we’re acting.
The Lord wants to free us from every hurt and pain, as well as deliver us from hurting others. It’s true that hurt people hurt people, because we don’t realize how it keeps us from repentance, deliverance, forgiveness and freedom in Him. The enemy wants to keep us bound, but it’s time to walk the path to freedom. May the Lord bless you, and we’ll see you tomorrow, God willing.
