Wise Families Value Obedience
Dr. Jack Graham
Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck. (Proverbs 1:8-9)
Yesterday we learned that wise families fear and respect the Lord. Today we'll see that wise families also understand the importance of and value obedience.
As parents, it's important to teach your kids to obey you because as they learn to obey you,…

Press Towards the Promise
Today's Scripture
“Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12).
Are you facing a challenge today that seems overwhelming? Through faith and patience, you will see God’s promises come to pass in your life. Understand that the enemy always fights the hardest when he knows you are closest to your breakthrough. He’d leave you alone if he thought you were going to live in mediocrity. If you…

"What matters is not what we feel like praying about, but what God wants us to ask him for. Not the poverty of our own heart, but the riches of the Word of God must decide how we are to pray." ( Dietrich Bonhoeffer in The Psalms - Prayer Book of the Bible). The psalms are unique within the Bible. Within them we find the complete range of human…

For all the negative things we
have to say to ourselves,
God has a positive answer for it.
You say: "It's impossible"
God says: All things are possible
(Luke 18:27)
You say: "I'm too tired"
God says: I will give you rest
(Matthew 11:28-30)
You say: "I can't go on"
God says: My grace is sufficient
(II…

Today's Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven, This day I lift up families to you. There are so many distractions in life. People get sidetracked by their own desires, the quest for more, what others think, trying to 'climb the ladder' of success, activities and more activities, working too hard, illness, challenges and problems, and so on. We often become consumed with all of that and distracted from all that is most important. God, I pray that every person spending this time with you right…

Today's Prayer
Dear God, I want to pray for all the church administrators, administrative assistants, secretaries, bookkeepers, receptionists, treasurers, anyone involved in the daily administration and operation of the church office and finances. Please keep them well, of sound mind, honest and discreet, and give them wisdom in their decisions and tasks. They have an important role in the ministry through the work they do. Please anoint and bless them for Your glory and kingdom. In Jesus'…

You Can Know God Intimately
"That I might know Him more deeply and intimately - that I may know the wonders of His Person..." Philippians 3:10
In the book of Revelation, you can read about the angels, the seraphim and cherubim that fly around the throne of God and are before God's face. They go around the very circumference of the throne, behold the face of God, and fly around the throne again and again (see Rev. 4:8).
The Scripture tells us that every time they…

Sexual Abuse: Part One
I went into this study this evening because I remembered the humiliation my junior brother and I had go through in the hands of the police in Port Harcourt because I wrote a petition against few British expatriates with an oil firm for sexual abuse that led to the death of my follow females nationals who were sluts or prostitution's. My junior brother was of course sacked from the company because I admitted to the police that it was him who gave me the details…

My brother, Kareem J. Ward, has been missing since June 17, 2007. He never showed up for a Father's Day picnic where he was expected at my house. Two days later, the police pulled his car from a nearby river but his body was never found. My whole world seemed to have ended right then and there. For the longest time, it was just Kareem and me since our sister died back in 1985 at the age of 7 from sickled-cell anemia (I was 9 and he was just 7 months old). I was literally a nervous wreck because…

Angels of God on Your Side
For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. Exodus 23:23 (KJV)
Much of what God said He did it through the ministry of angels. When the children of Israel went into the Promised Land as recorded in the Book of Joshua, they went up against the very first nation or group of people they had to drive out,…

Psalm 91:1-10 says,
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and…
