Give Me a Quiet Mind

First Peter 3:4 encourages women to beautify themselves with the imperishable beauty of a quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. “Quietness” stands in marked contrast to the “loudness” that characterizes an ungodly woman (Prov. 7:11). Failure and Amazing Grace . . .

As a firstborn and raised as the only child through adoption at birth, I have a strong desire to please, but I’m realizing I have an even stronger desire not to fail! I asked the ladies in Bible study last week how they would complete this sentence, “More than anything else I fear____________.” I was the only one who wrote FAILURE in bold letters, but as we talked, we realized many of our responses were linked to a fear of failure.

Just because they said it must be true.

How many of us have people come to you and said that I heard something about you and regardless to what you say they still believe what someone else has said. Pretty much everyone has gone thru that at one point in your life.

In the bible Jesus went thru the same thing, because the clergy wanted him out of the way because he was interrupting their way of doing things. Not only did they lie, they chose a criminal over Jesus.
