Faithfully Faithful

This my Essay for Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. The assignment was to read and do the lessons and explain what you learned and what God showed you in at least 500 words (or more). Please enjoy. I got my grade this evening. I am moving on to Isaiah.  :-)

We each have gifts that God has given us. I believe God has a path for each of us to take, and God works with us and develops our talents/gifts.…

Character Counts!

Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Bobby Jones was one of the greatest golfers to ever compete, uniquely known for winning the "Grand Slam" of golf winning all four major tournaments in the U.S. and Britain in a single year. In 1925, early in his career, having reached the final playoff in the U.S.…

Where's Faith When You Need It?

I recently discovered that I have Jewish ancestors on my mom and dad's sides of the family. It was hard to take seriously because it was mostly rumors in the family and the subject of jokes. On my dad's side, his mom's family barely escaped from Germany. They left everything behind. It was rumored that it was my dad's dad that had Jewish ancestry. I could never make the timing justify. I never met my grandmother Fox. She died long before I was born. That's why I didn't think of her having…

An Essay on the Book of Job

The book of Job shows how satan was the individual harming Job. The book of Job also shows us how disaster can strike, but God can also turn things around for us.

(Job 1:1-4) There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five…

The Word of God

The Word of God is God's thoughts and intent for us. If we want to know what God thinks, we have to go to the Bible. Every verse in Psalm 119 is about the Word of God. (All verses cited come from Psalm 119 unless I say otherwise.)

Through God's Word, we are blessed and gain understanding.

Keeping God's Word is a blessing. (119:1,2) Verse 4 sets the standard. We're to keep His Word diligently. Ignorance is not bliss. The Book of Hosea says God's people are destroyed for…

Overcoming Fear

Did you know there’s two kinds of fear?  One kind of fear is good. It’s called the fear of the Lord.  This kind of fear means to have respect, reverence or awe for God.  It’s not necessarily to be afraid of God, it’s more of a healthy respect for God’s wrath and anger. When we fear God, we acknowledge His awesomeness and all that He is.  We approach His throne with meekness and humility.  Fearing God is the beginning of wisdom and it can lead to understanding.  It brings blessings and…

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Did you know that God will forgive your sins if you believe it and accept it with a little faith? No matter how bad you think your sins are, God is rich in mercy and will forgive you. Let us consider forgiveness.

You can boldly (with confidence) approach the throne of God for His mercy and grace, and you will find that He will grant you full forgiveness for any of your sins. Hebrews 4:16 states:

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,… Continue

Psalm 119

In Psalm 119, every verse is about the word of God.

V2) Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

V4) Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

V11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

There is a blessing for you when you keep the word of God. How does one keep the word of God? We are to keep His word diligently, seek him with our whole heart, and hide the word in our… Continue

The Exceeding Riches of His Grace

What is grace?

It is a free gift from God that is unearned, unmerited and undeserved. It is God’s attitude towards us; an attitude of acceptance. There is nothing we have done, or that we can ever do to earn it. Grace is God‘s favor and blessing on our lives. It is God’s graciousness, kindness, and goodwill toward us.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works,… Continue

Prayer and the Prayer Warriors/Intercessors

(Psalm 34:3)

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

What is prayer?

1) A conversation with God; a connection with our heavenly Father.

2) It’s a privilege and responsibility.

3) A request that can move the hand of God in a situation where there is no other hope.

4) Crying out to God from deep inside, pouring out your soul before God.

5) Prayer blesses you not only when it’s… Continue
