Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Thursday October 22, 2009
VERSE:
Psalm 47 (King James Version)
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
COMMENTARY:
The God with whom we have to do, is a God of awful majesty. The universal and absolute sovereignty of a Holy God would be too terrible for us even to think of, were it not exercised by His Son from a mercy-seat; but now it is only terrible to the workers of iniquity. While His people express confidence and joy, and animate each other in serving Him, let sinners submit to His authority, and accept His Salvation. Christ Jesus, shall subdue the Gentiles; He shall bring them as sheep into the fold, not for slaughter, but for preservation. He shall subdue their affections, and make them a willing people in the day of His power. Also it speaks of His giving them rest and settlement. Apply this spiritually; the Lord Himself has undertaken to be the inheritance of His people. It shows the Faith and submission of the saints. This is the language of every gracious soul, The Lord shall choose our inheritance for us; he knows what is good for us better than we do. Praise is a duty in which we ought to be frequent and abundant. But here is a needful rule; Sing ye praises with understanding. As those that understand why and for what reasons they praise God, and what is the meaning of the service. It is not an acceptable service, if it is not a reasonable service. We are never to forget the end of Messiah's exaltation, so continually do the prophets dwell upon the conversion of the nations to the gospel of Christ Jesus. Why do we vainly fancy that we belong to Him, unless the Holy Spirit reign in our hearts by Faith? Lord, is it not thy glory and delight to give repentance to Israel and remission of sins, now that thou art exalted as a Prince and a Savior? Set up thy kingdom in our hearts. Bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And so sweetly constrain all the powers and faculties of the souls of thy redeemed, into Holy love, fear, and delight in thee, that praise with the understanding may rise from every heart, both here and for ever, to Thee, our God.
PRAYER:
Most Holy God, Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Thank You, for another day, Thank You that no harm or danger came any where near our door. Thank You that Greater is He that is in us then he that is in this world. Thank You Lord that Your love and kindness has been more then enough to keep us. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Precious Lord Christ Jesus, we praise You for who You are and what You have done. Precious Lord, Christ Jesus You alone are Holy and worthy of praise. we honor You as the true and living God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strengths. Thank You Lord, that You receive our words and the desires of our hearts with pleasure. we love You and want Your will to be done in our life today. You have so richly lavished Your Grace upon us, please receive back our adoration, praise, Thanks, and concern. As in days gone by, please work Your will with might in our lives today, and always. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Holy and Righteous God, we come before You not only as a sinner, saved by nothing but Your Grace, but also as a seeker longing to live for You. Please accept our confession of any sin that we may have committed, and our heartfelt sorry at having offend You, and our pledge to live for you in all we do and say. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, that we no we have the victory over sin, and that all our sins are forgiven. For You told us that; "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world." Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You. O Gracious Father, please shower Your Grace on those we love who struggle with sin, who are broken by life's problems, beset by disease, and caught in trying circumstances. we pledge to minister to their needs as we ask You to comfort, heal, strengthen and mend in ways our words and deeds cannot. Dear Lord, when trouble doesn't seem to go away, let us remember Your Words to Paul that Your Grace was sufficient for him. Let it also be sufficient for us. we know Your Grace will always take care of us better than we could ever imagine. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord, give us a strong Faith to accept that Your Grace is sufficient for any problem in our life, for You have taught us; For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly, The LORD said to Moses, I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name, The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the LORD, the small together with the great, Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence, What the wicked fears will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted, For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God, Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Thank You Holy Spirit that You have called to our remembrance this day the things that we have been taught, by You. Thank You our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives. Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You.
