Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Today, Friday, August 21, 2009
VERSE:
Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. Psalm 3 (King James Version)
COMMENTARY:
Here we find David complaining to God of his enemies, and confides in God. An active believer, the more he is beaten off from God, either by the rebukes of providence, or the reproaches of enemies, the faster hold he will take, and the closer will he cleave to Him. A child of God startles at the very thought of despairing of help in God. See what God is to his people, what he will be, what they have found him, what David found in Him. Safety; a shield for me; which denotes the advantage of that protection. Honor; those whom God owns for his, have true honor put upon them. Joy and deliverance. If, in the worst of times, God's people can lift up their heads with joy, knowing that all shall work for good to them, they will own God as giving them both cause and hearts to rejoice
PRAYER:
We Come once again before You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, in Prayer and praise, this day. Thank You that we are all here to lift up Your Holy name, Thank You Lord that no weapon formed against us has prospered, and all of our concerns are secure in Your loving hands. Thank You our Beloved Christ Jesus, Thank You. Almighty and Merciful God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, we give Thanks for Your wondrous Word, which makes it possible for us to know You as our Creator, our Savior, and as our faith-creating Holy Spirit. Strengthen our faith and help us to stand firm against the deadly theory of our time that you are an imaginary creation of the human mind. Thank You Lord, that we know that there is but one king, and that is You King Christ Jesus. Thank You that we are not ashamed of the Gospel, Thank You that greater is He that is in us, then he that is in this world, Thank You Lord, that You will never leave or forsake us, Thank You Lord that You have told us; The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways, His heart is upheld, he will not fear, until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries, Now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?, But I will deliver you on that day,' declares the LORD, and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you dread. 'For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not fall by the sword; but you will have your own life as booty, because you have trusted in Me,' declares the LORD, So he answered, Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them, Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent, For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you, No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,' declares the LORD. O Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus, Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord, we know that all things are in Your powerful hands, Thank You today, as always that You have looked down on all of us, Your children and that You see what each and everyone of us stand in need of. Thank You that by Your shading of Your Blood, and death on the Cross, we can come unto You in Prayer, and know that You hear us for You are our Heavenly Father, and all our sins are forgiven. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You Father, for having given us the victory, through Christ Jesus, our Lord, over sin and death. Thank You Lord, Thank You Christ Jesus, our Savior, who is Lord of our lives.
Now unto Him who is more then able to keep us, until the day of His coming, We give You Thanks this day, Christ Jesus, and every day for the rest of our lives, and this day, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in the Holy and Precious name of Christ Jesus. I commend our bodies and souls into Your loving hands Lord Christ Jesus.
