Our Prayer For Today Monday, September 28, 2009
VERSE:
Psalm 29 (King James Version)
Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory. The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
COMMENTARY:
The mighty and honorable of the earth are especially bound to honor and worship Him; but, alas, few attempt to worship Him in the beauty of Holiness. When we come before Him as the Redeemer of sinners, in repentance faith, and love, He will accept our defective services, pardon the sin that cleaves to them, and approve of that measure of Holiness which the Holy Spirit enables us to exercise. We have here the nature of religious worship; it is giving to the Lord the glory due to His name. We must be Holy in all our religious services, devoted to God, and to His will and glory. There is a beauty in Holiness, and that puts beauty upon all acts of worship. The psalmist here sets forth God's dominion in the kingdom of nature. In the thunder, and lightning, and storm, we may see and hear His glory. Let our hearts be thereby filled with great, and high, and honorable thoughts of God, in the holy adoring of whom, the power of Godliness so much consists. O Lord our God, thou art very great! The power of the lightning equals the terror of the thunder. The fear caused by these effects of the Divine power, should remind us of the mighty power of God, of man's weakness, and of the defenseless and desperate condition of the wicked in the day of judgment. But the effects of the Divine Word upon the souls of men, under the power of the Holy Spirit, are far greater than those of thunder storms in the nature world. Thereby the stoutest are made to tremble, the proudest are cast down, the secrets of the heart are brought to light, sinners are converted, the savage, sensual, and unclean, become harmless, gentle, and pure. If we have heard God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus's voice, and have fled for refuge to the hope set before us, let us remember that children need not fear their Father's voice, when he speaks in anger to his enemies. While those tremble who are without shelter, let those who abide in His appointed refuge Bless Him for their security, looking forward to the day of judgment without dismay, safe as Noah in the ark.
PRAYER:
Most Precious and Holy God, our Lord El-Shaddai Christ Jesus, Author of eternal salvation, our Jehovah-Nissi. We come before You this day in Praise and Thanksgiving. Thank You this day Lord Christ Jesus, that You are, A strength to the needy in his distress, A strength to the poor, A strong LORD, A strong tower from the enemy, A sun and shield, A sure foundation, A tried stone, A very present help in trouble, A wall of fire round about us to protect us. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, that You will never leave or forsake us. Thank You, that You are a Holy God and Righteous God. and will not allow our feet to stumble. Thank You Lord, O' Bless that wonderful Holy name of Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord. Lord we desire to worship You in Spirit and in Truth, and to be Holy as You are Holy. Lord Christ Jesus, please look down upon us Your children this day, and Bless all of us. Lord Jehovah-Jireh, we know that You know the secret desires of each and everyone of our hearts. You know our laying down and our riseing up. Stretch out Your mighty hands and heal the sick, give encourgement to the helpless, unemployed, the marriages that are on the verge of breaking up, the jobless. and the homeless. Lord please send the Holy Spirit unto each and every man and woman that, call upon Your Holy name, to remind them that by Your stripes they are healed, Lord touch their hearts, minds, bodies, this day. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord God, we have known sorrow and suffering. We have all sinned and often strayed. Thank Your that for Mercy's sake, You do not judge us according to our iniquities. Thank You that You have paid in full our debt there on the cross where You hung, Your blood being poured out for our sins. Thank Be unto God, that You came to us as flesh, Father God, took on flesh, Christ Jesus, hung on the cross for us, and that the blood that You shad gave us the Victory over sin and death, through Christ Jesus, our Lord. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Thank You, that the Word, God became flesh, Christ Jesus. Thank You. who has given us the Victory, by coming to earth as flesh, shading of the blood, and taking away our sins. Lord Christ Jesus, help us correct our sinful ways. And if we suffer because we speak and act as your children, give us strength to endure it and the wisdom to rejoice in it. Thank You Lord, Thank You. For we know what You have told us; God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life, Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called 'Today,' so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Lord we give praise to You this day, for You have surly done great things. Thank You Lord, We know that we must be Holy and love You for You have taught us; Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His loving kindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments, I love those who love me; and those who diligently seek me will find me, He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him, To endow those who love me with wealth, that I may fill their treasuries, Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart, The LORD keeps all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy, Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. we Your children do love You and give You all the Honor and Praise this day and always.
Now unto Him, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Himself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives.
