Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Our Prayer For Today Thursday, July 2, 2009
VERSE:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7
THOUGHT:
It is so wonderful to know that our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, is always in control of our lives, and that we need not worry about the things of this world, for all that our Lord has called for us to do, he will provide a way in which we can achieve His will for us. So do all things to the Glory of God, for only what you do for Christ will last.
"So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
"And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?"
"For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

PRAYER:
Precious Lord, and Savior Christ Jesus our God, our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in trouble, where else can we look for strength and courage during these dark and frightening times than to You? Jesus, precious Savior, the great conqueror of sin, death, and hell, let your Word of truth and love speak courage now to our troubled hearts. We are Yours. What can man do to us? Even as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need fear no evil, for You are with us. You are the Lord of heaven and earth. Help us to be still and know that You are God, to trust that these times, too, are in Your hands. Empower and embolden us to face whatever lies ahead of us with a calm and steady faith that we may continue to be beacons of hope and inner peace in this dark and dangerous world. Most Holy and Precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus and Eternal Father, Lord, we are thankful that we can be sure about your love for us. But sometimes some of us get confused, thinking that their own opinions about earthly matters such as politics, the economy, the governing of nations, and the like are also divinely inspired. Forgive them for such arrogance. Remind them that they are human and can err. During these difficult days of national uncertainty and decision making, give us a special measure of patience with those who hold a different position. Give us an ear to listen, without first judging or jumping to conclusions. Give us wisdom for clear-headed thinking and forgiving hearts for situations when those who disagree with us are rude or offensive. Make us more like You, our Savior, who always went the extra mile, reaching out to people with Your love, even when they didn’t understand Your mission. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You, Thank You for Your Grace and Mercy, Thank You that we know that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that every voice that speaks out against us, shall be brought to great shame. Thank You, Greater is He that is in us then he that is in this world. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You!
We give Thanks to our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus this day,
Praying, and proclaim victory in the Precious name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of our lives.
