VERSE:
Psalm 19 (King James Version)
The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
COMMENTARY:
The heavens so declare the glory of God, and proclaim His wisdom, power, and goodness, that all ungodly men are left without excuse. They speak themselves to be works of God's hands; for they must have a Creator who is eternal, infinitely wise, powerful, and good. The counter-changing of day and night is a great proof of the power of God, and calls us to observe, that, as in the kingdom of nature, so in that of providence, he forms the light, and creates the darkness,
Isa 45:7, and sets the one against the other. The sun in the firmament is an emblem of the Sun of righteousness, the Bridegroom of the church, and the Light of the world, diffusing Divine light and salvation by His Gospel to the nations of the earth. He delights to Bless His church, which He has espoused to Himself; and His course will be unwearied as that of the sun, till the whole earth is filled with His light and salvation. Let us pray for the time when He shall enlighten, cheer, and make fruitful every nation on earth, with the Blessed Salvation. They have no speech or language, so some read it, and yet their voice is heard. All people may hear these preachers speak in their own tongue the wonderful works of God. Let us give God the glory of all the comfort and benefit we have by the lights of heaven, still looking above and beyond them to the Sun of righteousness. (Ps 19:7-10)
PRAYER:
Most Precious, Lord and Savior Christ Jesus our Eternal Father, source of all goodness, Thank You that You are our rock of refuge. Thank You that as we come before You this afternoon, that we do so with a grateful heart, and a mind stayed on You. Thank You that You have not allowed any harm or danger to come near our homes. Thank You that since ancient times You have protected and watched over Your people. Even today You shelter and protect all who look to You in Faith. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Lord Christ Jesus, since You have shown us Your love by coming to earth and Your death on the cross, we look to You for all our needs and concerns. O Lord, make us overflow with Spiritual Blessings. Cause believers everywhere to rejoice in Your Salvation. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Cause the Gospel to go out with power from the lips of Ministers and Lay people. Make Your people rich with Faith in You Christ Jesus, and the hope of Eternal life, and love for You and Your Holy Word. Holy Father, Christ Jesus, for all Your gifts and goodness O Lord, make us truly Thankful. Thank You Lord, Thank You. We also pray for Your Blessing in physical things. Keep us free from any sickness and infirmity. Grant us the free use of our bodies and minds. Provide us with homes, clothing, food, and all the things we need to keep our bodies and lives. We ask these things boldly, as dear children ask their Dear Father. We know that You will not turn us away in anger, but will lovingly give us exactly what we need, for You told us; Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass, for this is like the days of Noah to Me, when I swore that the waters of Noah would not flood the earth again; so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you nor will I rebuke you. For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My loving kindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken," says the LORD who has compassion on you, when the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth, behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you, but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. "Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His loving kindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments, now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the LORD your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed, Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant. Lord, please keep pouring Your Grace out on us. Give us a rich measure of Your Holy Spirit so that we lead a godly life as Your true children. Thank You Christ Jesus, that You rescued us from sin, death, and the power of the devil. Lord Christ Jesus, Help us show our faith by putting our gratitude into action. Thank You Lord, Thank You.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Himself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives, we give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, Christ Jesus, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's bodies and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.
Amen.
