SUNDAY SCHOOL 1 TIMOTHY:2 1-6 3:14-16

T his lesson deals with the first epistle of Paul to Timothy  ''A Pastoral Epistle'' There are two others 2 Timothy and TITUS THEY TELLS BELEIVERS HOW TO BEHAVE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD. 1 timothy is a latter of pastoral rules

notice in verse 1-3 the first rules or duty of the church

1.Pray for all men that is the very first thing before all else PRAYER SHOULD BE THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE CHURCH, NOT JUST PRAY FOR YOUR  FRIENDS.  Pray for the high and the low, pray for the educated and the uneducated, the rich and the poor, the old and the young the friend and the  enemy . Every pearson needs prayer. HE tells us of four kind of prayers

a.by supplication (deeseis) This refers to the prayer that focus  upon special needs intense needs when we see the needs we are to be carrings the need before God with a science of urgency that God would help and save the person

just think what a different world would if we really too names and needs of people to God in prayer

b.by special prayers This refers to the special times of prayer that we set aside for devotion and worship

c.'Intercessor'(enteuxeis) This refers to bold praying standing before god in behalf of another person just as Christ is our Intercessor we are to intercede for all mean and woman'

d.Thanksgiving (eucharistias) This means that we thank GOD FOR HEARING AND ANSWERING THANK HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE AND IS GOING TO DO FOR ALL MEN

VERSE 2. PRAY FOR kINGS AND ALL WHO ARE IN AUTHORITY NO MATTER HOW GOOD ARE BAD THEY ARE NO MATTER HOW MORAL OR IMMORAL THEY ARE  PRAY FOR THEM

3;14-15  this verse 15 gives us a description of the church,he gives us 3 pictures of the church

1. the church is 'the  household (OIKIO) OF God'  This does not mean the building of the church,but the household of the church, to the people of the church.THE church is a body of people who have committed themselves to form a family of people centered around God

the CHURCH IS THE CHURCH OF THE living GOD MEANS AN ASSEMBLE,A GATHERING,A COMPANY OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT BY God

The church is the pillar and ground of the truth.  The church supports the truth just as pillars and ground support a building

verse16 in chap3 is loaded. this verse is what all beleivers beleive  church  INCARNATION WE CONFESS THAT TO THE WORLD.  God was manifest (REVEALED) IN THE FLESH HE BECOME A MAN IN THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST ,HE EXPERIENCED ALL SUFFERING AND ALL THE TRIALS OF MAN AND WOMEAN  SO THEREFORE HE CAN DELEIVER US FROM ALL TRIALS. HE WAS SEEN OF ANGLES IN THE PREPARATION OF HIS BIRTH.  IN HIS DEATH,  INHIS TEMPTATION,HIS TRIALS

CHRIST WAS PREACHED TO ALL NATIONS OF THE WORLD
