Sunday School Jude 1:17-25

April 10, 2011 is "Praise Builds Us Up". Scripture: Jude 1:17-25.

OVERVIEW
The background of this lesson is that Jude warned the believers that godless false teachers had wormed their way into the church. These false teachers taught that when you became a Christian, you could live any way you wanted to without the fear of punishment from God. Their teachings allowed Christians to live immoral, corrupt and evil lives. They defiled their bodies, rejected authority, lived sensual and lustfully. They mocked, laught at those who chose to live and follow Jesus.

In spite of all this, Jude reminded the believers to remember the teachings of the apostles that these scoffers would come in the last times/days. They would love evil deeds, they came to divide the church and that the Holy Spirit was not in them.

The believers were admonished to help those who were weak in the word and whose faith was not as strong as ours. We are to help baby Christians and be patient with them and to show mercy to them. We are not to wound and crush them. We are to help rescue others from the judgement and hell, by sharing with them the word of God.

Jude admonished the believers to build themselves up in their most Holy faith. This is the foundation on which believers would build their spiritual life. Our purpose in life is to glorify God. He alone is worthy to be praised and to preserve us unto Himself. He alone is the only wise God who can keep us from falling. He alone has the power to present us before His father faultless. He alone has the majesty, dominion, power and glory. What a mighty God we serve!

How do we build up there are four ways a beleiver builds himself up.
1.He builds upon the foundation of Holy Spirit build upon the Holy Faith study,meditate,learn, memorize,and live out the scriptures.
2.build up by praying in the Spirit. The Holy SPIRIT. tO PRAY IN THE spirit means that we pray under His guidance and influence under his power.
3. IT means that we ask and depend upon the Holy Spirt to cleanse our request and make sure thatwhat we ask is according to the will of God

3.Builds up by keeping himself in the love of God.

4. builds up by  looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ read (MT. 16;27)
