Beloved sister in Christ, God says He knows the plans He has for you in Jer.29:11,all of those plans are good and none are evil. My advice to you right now is to set your affections on the things above and allow God to add all other things to you. You have chosen three let God do the choosing this time.Be patient, be true and God will work for you. I am married but its complicated so I know what loneliness is and the same way he has kept me this past few years He can keep you, so, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.God bless you my friend and sister. You are in my prayers
Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being. You adopted me as Your child through Jesus Christ, in accordance with Your pleasure and will. I pray that I may be active in sharing my faith, so that I will have a full understanding of every good thing Ihave in Christ.
Father, I ask You to give me a complete understanding of what You want to do in my life, and I ask You to make me wise with spiritual wisdom. Then the way I live will always honor and please You, and I will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, I will learn to know You better and better.
I roll my works upon You, Lord, and You make my thoughts agreeable to Your will, so my plans are established and succeed. You direct my steps and make them sure. I understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is for I am not vague, thoughtless, or foolish. I stand firm and mature in spiritual growth, convinced and fully assured in everything willed by God.
Father, You have destined and appointed me to come progressively to know Your will — that is to perceive, to recognize more strongly and clearly, and to become better and more intimately acquainted with Your will. I thank You, Father, for the Holy Spirit Who abides permanently in me and Who guides me into all the truth — the whole, full truth — and speaks whatever He hears from the Father and announces and declares to me the things that are to come. I have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart.
So, Father, I have entered into that blessed rest by adhering to, trusting in, and relying on You, in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Amen.

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
Psalm 27:10
This prayer was prompted by a letter I received from someone who is incarcerated. According to his letter, he grew up in a family of fighters and felt abandoned by his family and so-called friends. His pugnacious attitude controlled him, and eventually his aggressive temperament caused him to almost kill someone.
In prison he was ridiculed and harassed by inmates who encouraged him to fight. His wife divorced him, and again he was left alone. Thoughts that “no one likes me” continually tormented him, but he desired to know how to change his thinking.
A laborer of the harvest introduced him to Jesus and my book, Prayers That Avail Much, Volume 1.1 He still had trouble

controlling his temper even with those who might have been his friends. His letter was filled with the pain of loneliness and abandonment. The following is a revised and expanded version of the original prayer I wrote encouraging him to pray for himself.
Prayer
Father, I have confessed Jesus as my Lord and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. I ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the resentment I feel towards those who abused and abandoned me.
Now, I am Your child. When other people leave me and I feel unloved, I am thankful that You will never, ever leave me alone or reject me.
Jesus gave His life for me and called me His friend. He lives in my heart, and I am on my way to heaven. That is plenty to be thankful for. So when I am lonely or discouraged, I can think of things that are pure and holy and good, even when I am apart from everyone.
Heavenly Father, I ask You to strengthen me and help me while in the presence of the dangers surrounding me. You have assigned angels who will accompany, defend and preserve me in all my ways [of obedience and service]. I am not alone. Your Word says that there is nothing that can separate me from the love of Christ — not pain nor stress nor persecution. I will come to the top of every circumstance or trial through Jesus’ love.
You are concerned with the smallest detail that concerns me, and You are my Help. I ask You for friends who will admonish and encourage me. Teach me how to trust others and be a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Help me to walk in Your love and show myself friendly.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lack of communication skills is one of the greatest hindrances to healthy relationships. Most of the time, when we pray, we are seeking change. We cannot change others, but we can submit to the constant ministry of transformation by the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 12:1,2.)
Prayer prepares us for change. Change produces change, which may be uncomfortable. If we will move through the discomfort, God will work with us, leading us out of our self-developed defense mechanisms into a place of victory. In this place He heals our brokenness, becomes our defense and our vindication. We are enabled to submit to the Champion of our salvation, which we are working out with fear and trembling. (Phil. 2:12.)
Adults who grew up in judgmental, critical homes where they were never allowed to express themselves sometimes carry much hurt and anger into their relationships. Often, they were not permitted to have their own feelings without being condemned; they were not permitted to explore any ideas different than their parents’ or caregivers’. There was an eye watching their every move. Any punishment they received was justified. Their parents were incapable of making a mistake.
Adult children of religiously rigid environments were led to believe that any slip, error in judgment or mistake was a sin that would send them straight to hell; the parent’s religious doctrine was the only way to heaven, and to deviate from it would lead to destruction. Forgiveness could be attained only after much sorrow, penance and retribution. Death before the completion of repentance led to an eternity in hell.
People raised in such oppressive home environments were never allowed to find themselves or to travel their own individual spiritual journeys leading to truth. The head of the home, usually the father, was God in the flesh. Conflict resolution was never taught or practiced. Whatever the head of the household said was law — and disobedience to his law was not discussed, but beaten out of the child. The wife was subservient and was not allowed to question the dictates of the husband.
When these adults marry, they often feel that they have finally found a platform from which to express themselves. They have escaped a place of abiding fear, constant condemnation and continual criticism. Having no communication skills, they often have difficulty expressing themselves properly. When anyone disagrees with them, they tend to react as they were taught. Only now, the marriage partner or friend does not submit to dogmatic, manipulative words. Frustration develops. The adult child seeks to make himself or herself understood, resulting in more frustration. Anger is fed, and the individual continues to be in bondage to the idea that he or she should never have been born. The person either retreats to a silent corner, refusing to talk, or uses words to build walls of defense — shutting others out. He or she resides inside emotional isolation, attempting to remove himself or herself from more hurt and criticism.
There is a way of escape. God sent His Word to heal us and to deliver us from all our destructions. (Ps. 107:20.) We must determine to listen, to learn and to change with the help of the Holy Spirit — our Teacher, our Guide and our Intercessor. The anointing is upon Jesus to bind up and heal our emotional wounds. (Luke 4:18.) His anointing destroys every yoke of bondage (Is. 10:27), setting the captives free.
Prayer
Father, I am Your child. Jesus said that if I pray to You in secret, You will reward me openly.
Father, I desire with all my heart to walk in love, but I am ever sabotaging my own efforts and failing in my relationships. I know that without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to You. I am coming near to You, believing that You exist and that You are the Rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek You.
Developing Healthy Friendships
Father, help me to meet new friends — friends who will encourage me. May I find in these friendships the companionship and fellowship You have ordained for me. I know that You are my source of love, companionship, and friendship. Your love and friendship are expressed through my relationship with You and members of the Body of Christ.
According to Proverbs 27:17 CEV, as iron sharpens iron, so friends sharpen the minds of each other. As we learn from each other, may we find a worthy purpose in our relationship. Keep me well-balanced in my friendships, so that I will always please You rather than pleasing other people.
I ask for divine connections — good friendships ordained by You. Thank You for the courage and grace to let go of detrimental friendships. I ask and receive, by faith, discernment for developing healthy relationships. Your Word says that two are better than one, because if one falls, there will be someone to lift that person up.
Father, You know the hearts of people, so I won’t be deceived by outward appearances. Bad friendships corrupt good morals. Thank You for quality friends who help me build a stronger character and draw me closer to You. Help me be a friend to others and to love my friends at all times. I will laugh with those who laugh, I will rejoice with those who rejoice, and I will weep with those who weep. Teach me what I need to know to be a quality friend.
Develop in me a fun personality and a good sense of humor. Help me to relax around people and to be myself — the person You created me to be. Instruct my heart and mold my character, that I may be faithful and trustworthy over the friendships You are sending into my life.
Father, Your Son, Jesus, is my best Friend. He is a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother. He defined the standard when He said in John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Thank You, Lord, that I can entrust myself and my need for friends into Your keeping. I submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Father, I thank You for the ever-developing intimate relationship I have with You. For You have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on You; You brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise You.
You alone are the Source of my confidence, faith, hope, love, peace, and forgiveness. Also, I thank You for my family, church family, and friends who are here to help me develop emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. I am a friend to all who fear You, to all who follow Your precepts.
Spiritually alive, we have access to everything Your Spirit is doing, and we can’t be judged by unspiritual critics. Isaiah’s question, “Is there anyone around who knows God’s Spirit, anyone who knows what He is doing?” has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ’s Spirit.
Your Word communicates ideas, gives me understanding about who I am and who I am not. It is alive, dividing asunder my spirit and soul, discerning what is within me, exposing the unhealed emotional wounds and unmet needs. I submit to You, my Lord and my God, and allow Your Word to shape my life so that I may identify and settle the unresolved issues that have driven me to form unhealthy relationships in the past. I forget those things that are behind me and reach forth unto those things that are before me.
Jesus, I thank You for meeting my every need, and because I am complete in You, I don’t look to another human being to bring me fulfillment. I resist the temptation to take responsibility for the behavior of others, and I assume responsibility for my own actions. You have made me glad, and I do not look to others to make me happy.
Lord, You are my confidence, and You will keep my foot from being snared. You will never leave me without support. I am confident in my relationships because You are my Lord and Master; I am a partaker of Your divine nature. You have given me all things that pertain unto life and godliness. I am a friend who loves at all times, and I will be there as a brother/sister to others in times of adversity.
In my relationships I encourage appropriate love, and my friends and I help one another out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do. We admit our faults to one another and pray for each other so that we may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results.
My relationships are founded on love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith in the name of Jesus. Amen.
