"Now the donkeys belonging to Saul's father Kish were lost" (1 Sam 9:3).
God used adversity to call the first king of Israel. In 1 Samuel 9 and 10, we find Saul working in the family business, employed by his father, Kish. In Bible times, donkeys represented trade and commerce, for they were the primary means of transporting goods.
Some of Kish's donkeys were missing, so Kish told his son Saul to take a servant with him and go find the missing donkeys. Saul and the servant…

"Deadbeat Dad" is a phrase we hear often these days. It describes a man who has biologically fathered a child, but does not support the child or takes part in the child's life. Rearing and supporting his child is left to someone. A “deadbeat spiritual dad” is a pastor or leader in the church who does not support or mentor their members in the ways of Christian growth. Members and ministers are left to train and encourage themselves.
A lot of leaders leave it up to members to develop…

Luke 9:22-24 (King James Version)
Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save… Continue

Father, You instructed us to pray for those in authority and we lift up President Barak Obama. We thank You for the anointing that abides over the office of the President of the Unites States since the time our forefathers dedicated this country to Jesus Christ. We pray that our president will abide under that same covering. We extend the common honor to President Barak Obama that all in his position have been ascribed.
God, we thank You for placing favor on the highest office in our…

God Is Doing A New Thing
Dr. Creflo A. Dollar
It is a new day and God wants to do something new in your life! If you are a Believer, you have a right to receive the manifestation of every word God has spoken over your life. As you lay hold of it by faith, it will come to pass. It is easy to become discouraged when you don’t see things happening quickly enough, but as you seek His face through praise, prayer and worship, He will begin to reveal more of who He is to you. The more you…

Responding to God's Grace
Isaiah 6:1-5
The more we understand the contrast between God's holiness and our sinfulness, the clearer the magnitude and depth of His grace will become. This knowledge will cause us to turn to Him in . . .
Confession of our sins. The prophet Isaiah, upon seeing God's holiness, clearly grasped his own uncleanness. In a similar way, recognizing the Lord's perfection will lead us to realize our own unrighteousness. We may think we're doing okay…

O COME, let us sing unto the LORD: let s make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry lands. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. Fore he is our God:…

A Fresh Start
Robin Ware
In preparting for the upcoming new year, I'd like to encourage you (if you haven't done so already) to get out a pad and pen and measure your accomplishments against the assignments God gave you for 2008.
Take a moment to reflect and state why you weren't as successful as you would have liked to be in 2008.
To truly pursue a fresh start in God this year, you may need to take back control of your life beginning with the external forces you…

Today's Prayer
God, thank you for all you do and all you have given and continue to give. Please help me to have a servant spirit and to be a faithful steward of all you have entrusted to me. I pray that you would give me grace today to walk through the tests ahead victoriously--that I may prove a faithful servant and a godly witness. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

For a New Beginning, Forsake the World
Bishop Keith Butler
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. Hebrews 11:23 (KJV)
Do you want this new year to be have some new beginnings? Then you're going to have to forsake the world system. The world will bombard you with the easy way out. However, you have to decide that by faith God's way is the only way for…

A New Resolution
Pete Wilson
I know some people are "anti" New Years resolutions. However, I think this is an exciting time of year to set goals and establish new perspectives. One of my New Year's resolutions is to establish a broader perspective throughout my life in this new year.
It's inspired by the following passage in Psalm 39.
4 "Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered--
how fleeting my life…

She stands in need of intercessor prayer. She is having a rough time and is serious considering suicide. I was up all night texting back and forth just to keep her encouraged she 17 and I don't know what state she lives in but I do know she believes in Jesus but the world has been cruel to her.

Dear in the Lord. Happy New Year,Praise GOD giving one more year to us to live and serve thee." Orders remain UNCHANGED!"
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:…

"New Beginnings" - Pt. 1
James 1:25 But if you keep looking steadily into God's perfect law - the law that sets you free -
and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. -NLT
A new year is already here. And there are so many things that come with a new year, including the need for resolutions. People usually feel that the beginning of year is when change should occur and new ideas, behaviors, direction, etc. should…

"Temptation"
Luke 11:4 'And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive
everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"
When temptation is too much for you to say no to, there is a simple
statement that Jesus gave us to rescue us. "Lead me not into temptation
but deliver me from evil". God is always there and he never leads us
into temptation, but he will lead us away from it as well! That's what
this prayer is all about.…

High Hopes
Dr. Frederick K.C. Price
Hebrews 10:23 says: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
There are two words in that verse which I want to examine-confession and hope. Before I learned how to walk by faith, all my wife and I lived on was hope. But hope will not change your circumstances. It takes faith to release the power of God to change your circumstances. Hope will only keep you alive until things change.…

Glorious Sunday Morning!
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor,…

"The Selfish Sower"
Gal. 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap
life everlasting.
When we were young we were always taught that sinning separates us from
God. And that is a very true statement. I don't know how you grew up,
but I grew up strict holiness, where you didn't really know the reason
why, you just knew that it did! Most of the saints back in my…
