Wise Families Value Obedience
Dr. Jack Graham
Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck. (Proverbs 1:8-9)
Yesterday we learned that wise families fear and respect the Lord. Today we'll see that wise families also understand the importance of and value obedience.
As parents, it's important to teach your kids to obey you because as they learn to obey you,…

Press Towards the Promise
Today's Scripture
“Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12).
Are you facing a challenge today that seems overwhelming? Through faith and patience, you will see God’s promises come to pass in your life. Understand that the enemy always fights the hardest when he knows you are closest to your breakthrough. He’d leave you alone if he thought you were going to live in mediocrity. If you…

Today's Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven, This day I lift up families to you. There are so many distractions in life. People get sidetracked by their own desires, the quest for more, what others think, trying to 'climb the ladder' of success, activities and more activities, working too hard, illness, challenges and problems, and so on. We often become consumed with all of that and distracted from all that is most important. God, I pray that every person spending this time with you right…

Today's Prayer
Dear God, I want to pray for all the church administrators, administrative assistants, secretaries, bookkeepers, receptionists, treasurers, anyone involved in the daily administration and operation of the church office and finances. Please keep them well, of sound mind, honest and discreet, and give them wisdom in their decisions and tasks. They have an important role in the ministry through the work they do. Please anoint and bless them for Your glory and kingdom. In Jesus'…

You Can Know God Intimately
"That I might know Him more deeply and intimately - that I may know the wonders of His Person..." Philippians 3:10
In the book of Revelation, you can read about the angels, the seraphim and cherubim that fly around the throne of God and are before God's face. They go around the very circumference of the throne, behold the face of God, and fly around the throne again and again (see Rev. 4:8).
The Scripture tells us that every time they…

Angels of God on Your Side
For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. Exodus 23:23 (KJV)
Much of what God said He did it through the ministry of angels. When the children of Israel went into the Promised Land as recorded in the Book of Joshua, they went up against the very first nation or group of people they had to drive out,…

Psalm 91:1-10 says,
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and…

Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground (Psalm 143:8-10). Lord, you know me and you know my special needs. I trust you to meet those needs in the way that is best. You know what is in my heart and mind today. I pray that you will provide calmness and fill me with good thoughts and actions as I interact with the people…

The Key To Heaven
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:13 (KJV)
Do you want to receive whatever you want from God. I am going to tell you how to get it. You must be a person who loves like Jesus loves, and believes on Him. That is doing His works. He goes on to tell you, the person who walks in love, how you can do…

You're Not Home Yet
"I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever." Psalm 23:6
Where will you live forever? In the house of the Lord. So what does that make your present house? Temporary accommodation. "Our homeland is in heaven" (Php 3:20 NCV). This explains the homesickness you've felt ever since your husband or wife died, you learned about the lump in your breast, or the spot on your lung, or when your family fell apart. The twists and turns of life have a way of reminding…

Today's Prayer
God, thank You for Your comforting promise that You will never leave nor forsake me. In times like today, I need that assurance. You are my Rock and my Salvation. I trust You, even when I feel like I cannot trust anyone else. I look up to You, because I know You will always be there for me, even if the whole world forsakes me. Thank You, so much, for Your love and dependability. You are awesome! With love and appreciation in my heart,…

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:18
Christians have a great responsibility in the earth. It doesn't matter how much we want to look away from it, God has established a part for us to play in this…

There is unlimited power in unity! Unity simply means having continuity in purpose or action. Psalm 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (New King James Version).
Unity is the glue in the body of Christ that allows us to be one. Even with all the differences...different perspectives, races, experiences, denominations, worship practices-we can celebrate these differences and still work together.
The three key…

The Bible speaks very plainly to us about the importance of having wisdom. Wisdom is what puts all of the puzzle pieces of our lives together in the proper order. Those pieces labeled "knowledge" and "experience" and "situations" all fit together in the proper place and in the proper order when wisdom arranges the pieces.
But where do we get wisdom? We can't go down to our local Christian book store and buy a pound of wisdom. We can't go next door a borrow a cup of it from our…

Today's Prayer
Oh Lord, I'm so sorry for the pride that creeps into my heart. You alone are worthy. You spoke this earth into being. You breathed the breath of life into mankind. You hold the universe in place. Who am I to take credit for anything. Thank You for all You have given and all You have done. Thank you for meeting my needs and for all the You have accomplished through me. Please, make me a blessing to others and to You. Minister through me to a lost and needy world. Fill me up…

Walking in Unity
If the Body of Christ got on one accord, we could reach the whole world. Unfortunately, right now we are not on one accord. We are not walking in unity.
We can't even agree on salvation. We can't agree on the "infilling" of the Holy Spirit. We can't agree on water baptism. Some of the Church says that you have to be water baptized to go to heaven. I mean all kinds of misinformation and all these different denominations. This is what is keeping the Body of Christ…

Today's Prayer
God, sometimes I wonder why in the world I go through the things I do. What lesson is it that I am supposed to learn? I rejoice in the times You have allowed me to have "faith experiences"--times that have tested and strengthened my faith in You. I know that faith experiences are usually not easy, but they end up being a blessing in disguise. Please, hold me up and keep me from stumbling. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others and to You. Work through me so…

Today's Scripture
“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” (Galatians 3:6).
So many people today are looking for ways to be righteous or to be in “right standing” with God. The Bible simply says that when we believe God, that’s righteousness. The proof, or evidence, of our faith in Him is found in our actions. The Bible says that faith without works is dead. That means, when we really believe something, our actions will support what we…

Written On Your Heart
Today's Scripture
“They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts…” (Romans 2:15).
In the Old Testament, God’s commands were written on stone tablets and kept in the tabernacle. Now, we are living according to the New Testament, and when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we become His temple. He lives in us, and He engraves His promises and commands in our hearts. How can you be sure of this? This verse goes…
